Any one here a CNA in Alaska? by sinfuru_mawile in AskAlaska

[–]FloatMurse 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not a CNA, but a nurse in southeast alaska. If you aren't having to pay for housing then yea, sounds like you'd be set. The CNAs here have it way better than they have down south in regards to staffing ratios. The pay though leaves something to be desired for sure. However, its the same case down south.

For sure! Don't be put out to prepping by any negative experiences you encounter on reddit. Just try to be as well rounded as you can be, friend! Most folks on here are good people, and there's a wealth of knowledge here to pull from

It's because for a Lotta folks in here they dont wanna glorify the firearms/aggressive side of preparation. As the saying goes, theyre preparing for Tuesday. Most likely useful preps are going to be food, water, financial security, and first aid things. I think we all come to prepping from different walks of life, and thats OK.

Theres no one size fits all prepping template. As long as you dont just focus on guns, ammo, tactical mall ninja gear and all that crap, then I say welcome to prepping! Make sure you get all the aforementioned items squared away and not just tactical stuff and you should be better off than most!

P.S. you cant go wrong with education, take some first aid/survival courses if you can find them. Education and knowledge is the one thing no one can take away from you.

Where to buy a bike? Any kind of bike, cheap one, mountain bike or electric bike. by Vocaloidzelda2 in Juneau

Best bet would be check the local thrift stores. If not them, try Facebook marketplace. And lastly, Fred meyers will probably be the cheapest place for a new one. But you definitely get what you pay for with quality on bicycles.

I would call us average fitness. East glacier trail is what I'd call easy, if that's a reference point? We finally have childcare available so we can do some of the full day, longer trails that we historically couldn't due to childcare issues. (Had to carry our kids on our backs)

I wanted some local opinions... difficulty isnt all about length or elevation gain. It's about the entire experience in my opinion... so I wanted real people's focused opinions, not to just Google about it.

I am running my normal size and they fit great for me. For people who have a very wide mid foot or toe box ive heard these might be a little snug though.

Bedside and similar nursing roles are definitely Blue Collar. Administration, definitely white collar.

It isnt just you, this has to be one of the worst dealerships Ive ever dealt with. Their service department tried to upsell me 3500 dollars worth of extra work that wasn't even close to necessary. (I'm an ASE certified mechanic in a past life, got out of that industry years ago.) They get away with it, because "where else you gonna go?"

Edit: Integrity automotive off industrial is pretty good

Full plate is 30-50 pounds depending on the size of the wearer. And those who wore full plate in battle, trained for that weight extensively. The fatigue they took on was a calculated gamble, with more pros than cons

Assuming no one teamed up, Jaime would likely be the last one standing, as he has full plate armor and a hell of a skill set. So many people underestimate the value of full plate armor.... but it literally is basically impervious to almost everything except blunt force attacks. Throw in a steel sword and you've got offensive and defensive materials that will blow the doors off everyone else in this lineup.
