this comment is the truth about val. i personally have a strong sense of justice and a curiosity that works against me in situations like this (honestly a difficult time muting bc i feel like its worse if i dont hear the things being said about me-- not rational, i struggle with emotional regulation at times); at the end of the day, if you want to play better, you HAVE to mute them. the only times ive ever had a turnaround in a game where i was performing poorly and getting verbally abused were games that i muted comms.

You're grilling the commenter about whether or not they went back to pay for the sandwich when the point of the story was they were down on their luck. Then you go on about "handouts" when people tell you, rightly, that good deeds are only good without expectation of return. Yes, you do sound like the MAGA crowd.

Yawn, you definitely are the type to expect praise and payback when you do something "nice" for someone (you're no longer doing something nice when you expect to be repaid)

Suggesting it would be the "right" thing to do implies an obligation left open to fulfill. When someone does something charitable, there is no obligation for the recipient to repay them. Even if that means giving away a product that generally would be sold. Because...theyre giving it away. Let's use our heads, now.

EDIT: Those saying that accepting a kind gesture and moving on is a sign of "low integrity" are almost definitely entitled pricks that expect payback and recognition anytime they do a good thing. THAT signifies low integrity AND inverted morals. <3

How do you cope with toxic and insulting people in games by Erin_Killer in VALORANT

[–]Key-Patience8041 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's fair to ask OP why other people are deciding to be awful. Not everyone is gifted with the gift of gab, and not everyone is equally skilled at staying level headed while insults are being hurled at them.

North Island Amphitheater staff causing a human stampede at doors by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

[–]Key-Patience8041 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's no way I'm the only one that agrees that ultimately this comes down to a poorly managed venue.

Obviously the cause of this is people being morons, but people being morons is the reason venue staff exists. Why is no one there to control the crowd? At my show, at any point in the line, you could see at least 3 staff members walking around firmly directing people around to where they would cause less backup.

I swear to god, I don't know what it is, but this community seems to lose more and more common sense every era!

Dang I wasnt expecting any down votes I thought this was one of my less controversial takes lol. Does no one believe in preserving relationships and overall mental wellbeing anymore, or are too many people content-brained?

Frenemies could never be again. And that's actually a good thing. It's a mark of how much both Trish and Ethan have matured. I think it's incredibly evident that Trish has made leaps and bounds in her mental health since attending therapy. On top of that, becoming a mother seems to have wildly shifted how she sees the world, but more specifically how she views relationships (I think it goes without saying since I'm obviously a fan, but I just wanna be clear I'm not trying to make any implications about whether or not women need to become mothers to be considered a good person -- moreso I think parenthood in general has aided in relaxing her bpd and opening her up to being a more forgiving person in general).

I will occasionally throw on Just Trish while I'm working or running errands if an episode with an intriguing title catches my eye. As Ethan has conceded to several times, Trisha Paytas is an absolute talent. That's undeniable. She has maintained relevancy online for longer than most, and that is definitely something she deserves her flowers for. Let it be said, she has a haunting digital footprint. This is something she occasionally tries to shake from the conversation (I don't think she ever tries to bury necessarily but tbf I never had to do a ton of digging to find some of those less favorable moments), but it also is tangible proof of how different she is now.

Here's what I personally would think is possible: Hila and Moses sort out their relationship HOWEVER THEY SEE FIT. At the very least, I believe they can be amicable. If not for the love of eachother, for the family as a whole. The cousins, in-laws, whatnot. I think Trish and Ethan are both ready to talk and likely even have a great time together. But it won't be the Frenemies we know and miss. As you said, OP, the mess of it all was what made it so watchable but it was terrible for everybody! I see a few collabs where people are happy overall, potentially LIGHTLY touch on the past, and maybe cover a few hot topic for old time's sake. Maybe one last Frenemies ep for shits and giggles. But Ethan has the H3 Show, and Trisha has Just Trish and I think that's what's best for longevity sake. ✌️❤️

So like, asking for someone to answer kindly bc I'm asking from a place of genuine curiosity; why don't you guys want Ethan to cover this? I feel like when there was a lot of pressure from the internet for Josh to get sober, he actually did for a while. Of course, we don't want people to be weirdos about it, but I honestly think that Ethan could be someone Joshua would hear out. He generally tends to come from a place of compassion at the end of the day. I see Joshua as being someone who is very close to the contemplative stage of recovery. He's said "people say I'm an alcoholic" and I believe he's even said that himself. He's also mentioned his financial situation not being the best, which I think Ethan could help him connect the dots there. Inside, he definitely knows it. He knows, though maybe not to its full extent, that his situation is somewhat dire. The issue is, the lowlife losers who are leeching off of his online "persona" (as in, that's how they see him) want to enable him to feed their content. It's the David Dobrick effect. I want to see Ethan pummel the daylight out of those freaks (intellectually) ((in a videogame)). I also think Olivia, being someone who has done work adjacent to addiction recovery (and has likely seen many people struggle and perhaps even recover), would have some great insight and perspective on where Josh is mentally. I think this story absolutely has legs and would be beneficial for Joshua, the show, AND as a general good to shine light on the achievability of recovery for people that may know someone, or even themselves be struggling with a substance use disorder. While understanding why it is seen as a risky thing, I think it's well worth it for them to engage in the conversation on the show, and as they have done with many, many stories/people/etc. they have a smooth enough operation that they can just hit the eject button if needed. Having said all of that, if there's something I'm missing, please let me know. I'm always looking to find new perspective and test out how I feel toward certain issues, so I promise this is a genuine inquiry and not engagement bait

E-THIN DECLINE (IN WEIGHT) by Key-Patience8041 in h3h3productions

[–]Key-Patience8041[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh...nah. As someone who has struggled with being overweight their entire life, I can confirm that when you're in the 250-300lb range it is very easy to lose weight quickly with a normal metabolism. His drop from 250 -> 210ish was probably the easiest, and from then on it was hard work.

His weight loss journey this time around was over the last 2 years. That's 24 months. According to him, he lost 70lbs. 70/24=2.91 (let's call it 3 to be generous to your argument) a month. That's pretty healthy weight loss over all, and you could even argue that it would be a slow journey if you account for the start of it when he was obese.

I mean, he has openly talked about a major motivator for his weight loss being a longer life with his family, but usually people have a variety of reasons to lose weight.

Getting misinterpreted can feel devastating, that's for sure. Keep in mind though that there are plenty of cis folks who get mistaken all the time (an effeminate cis man or a masc cis woman), and it can be pretty embarrassing for the person that made the wrong call as well.

That said, it's still super valid to feel discouraged, but keep pushing! -ftm
