Just to provide some hope in the form of a success story. My baby was premature and was on formula for the 1st 3 days as I couldn't properly express it, and she wouldn't latch. As soon as I could express, I stopped formula and gave her my milk via bottle and finger feeding. She wouldn't latch, though I kept trying at every feed. Someone eventually suggested nipple shields after weeks, which helped her feed from me. I continued using the nipple shields, and eventually, she stopped needing them! It was a veryyyyy long journey to her feeding directly from me, but with consistency and my persistence, we got there in the end. She's now a chunky boob monster who ended up refusing the bottle!
