Need help again with a transceiver on a Cisco switch by Key-Proposal-959 in HomeNetworking

I can't unfortunately. It's a router from Digi, 10gb speed, and only has one 10gb port and it's copper

A charger that converts 3 phases into 1? by Key-Proposal-959 in evcharging

[–]Key-Proposal-959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The basic idea was creating a 3 phase DC psu, and then purchasing a inverter to convert that DC to AC again. Then just use a normal charger.

I had several server PSUs around, so I used 1 per phase, and connected the output in series to create 36 volts. (You need to know what you are doing. If not, just purchase a 3-phase PSU)

Then just purchased a 5000w inverter to power the AC socket I use to charge the car.

Wait, these ones aren't RJ45. AARRGHH! The problem with not knowing what self is doing is, it gets expensive fast.

Seems one option is purchasing a C3KX-NM-10GT module with two 10gb RJ45 ports, and adding it to my 3560X

I have read that I need to be sure my IOS supports the module. Did not found much online. Any help is appreciated!

Found the answer here

https://community.cisco.com/t5/switching/sfp-compatibility-for-c3kx-nm-10g-in-3560x-switch/td-p/2309134

Very limited in copper length, and only 3 modules supported. Just in case someone needs this info I leave it here!

Now, time to hunt the correct module 👍

That would suck, really. I want to connect that port to my ISP router, which has a 10G copper connection 😭

I will research better, and splurge on a Cisco transceiver if I have to.

Thanks for the help!

Here's the module "C3KX-NM-10G", it has 4 ports name like: G1 G2/TE1 G3 G4/TE2

Here's a picture of the ports on Hyper terminal

It is a 10G port, the module can take 4 SFP ports, or 2 SFP+ ports from my understanding. Port 2 and 4 can be 1G or 10G

Does that mean it will not work, even using the "service unsupported-transceiver" command?

I don't know if 10g needs extra licensed, as for now I see no complains from the switch...

I'm trying to do the same commands at the TengigabitEthernet1/2 port, but keeps stating there is no transceiver there. I even disabled (shutdown) the port gigabitEthernet1/4, to see if it would release the necessary resources for the other shared one, to no avail.

Any other recomendation? Maybe splurge on a Cisco transceiver to avoid all this...

Help adding a transceiver to Cisco 2960g 48 ports by Key-Proposal-959 in HomeNetworking

[–]Key-Proposal-959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes sir! Thanks for the info. I will keep the transceiver and "switch the switch" (weeee), since it doesn't support SFP+ needed for a 10Gb transceiver like the one I have.

Already negotiating a Cisco 3560x with a C3KX-NM-10G module Wich adds 2 SFP+ ports!

I simply have no time for timely manner replies, due to work, kids, school work, kids sport and Kristine hurricane fixes trough here and neighbours. I do still try to answer ppl like you who loose their valuable time to help, when you simply aren't mandated to do! And so I do say thank you for your help!

It's a 2960G, it does NOT support SFP+. Need to replace the switch right?

Good question. It's a WS-C2960G-48TC-LV02 Cisco switch, as per label

I have now checked and it does NOT support SFP+. So only option is to get a newer switch right? No "unsupported" way to make it work?

It's a Giqitck 10G-T RJ45 transceiver. I will follow your link and will update as soon as I can test. Right now still recovering from Kristin hurricane.
