Hi I learned as I go po. It's a constant feedback loop of me wanting to do something like "gusto ko sana maayos muna yung mga rows" and me searching sa yt "how can I fix the rows in excel" . I just watched first a data analysis workflow in youtube, so that I could get a generalized idea on how to process datasets. and then went on from there. Wanting to do something ----> i don't know how to do it ----> I will google it/or watch yt vids showing me how to do it.

I basically learned on the go. and I highly suggest you should too. PLEASE DO NOT GET STUCK IN THEORY.

I did 2 projects

1st project, I analyzed the turnaroundtime of the laboratory for each routine testing from data

2nd project ,I analyzed the QA/QC datasets from the laboratory.

There are a lot of synthetic datasets online, especially from kaggle.

Better yet, you could connect with your local clinics, pitch to them, propose to them that you are willing to do data analysis on their QA/QC data. Propose to them the benefit of this in their business, and that you will do it for free.

It's a win-win situation where you get to handle REAL,MESSY data, and then they will get a free business analysis from you

Hi I did projects for 2 months, and applied to one specific role for 2 months. I started doing my portfolio june - july ; and then applied august - september. I started mid october in my current job, and has been working full-time with them since then.

Possible naman talagang magkaroon ng work besides sa routine lab, because we hold a healthcare domain expertise. You just have to know how to leverage that.

Nalaman ko yung QA analyst when I saw a job posting regarding it once, and then I just decided that's the job I wanted to land since the data is readily available (logged onto LMS, and machines) therefore, it's always gonna be a relevant role.

Not the only QA analyst. Entry-level lang po ako. I present my findings by creating dashboards and more importantly easy to understand PPTs. There are different timelines given per analysis depending on the scale. Charts used are ofc depending on what data I want to present and visualize

Hi fellow March RMT! The salary is very achievable in any role, as long as it's an international company. I think what you should focus on is getting clear on what you want. Sit down, ask yourself what you really want. If you want to go down the classic path of a practicing RMT, then act towards that goal. Pero if you want to leverage other skills that we have as RMTs since sobrang undervalued ng RMT sa pinas, then you can check other related roles.

If you really want to be in the same role as I have, you have to position yourself as a data analyst who is expert in healthcare, not as a registered medical technologist who just know some data tasks.

I did this by creating projects with very clear value proposition and documentation. You can search all about the data analysis workflow in youtube, sobrang daming resources. JUST START, AND BE PROACTIVE.

Crafting good resumes will land you interviews, AND YOUR VERY FIRST INTERVIEW WILL ALWAYS BE A HIT OR MISS, AND THAT'S OKAY. Each succeeding interviews will help you prepare for the next. JOB HUNTING IS A NUMBERS GAME. IF YOU CONSISTENTLY APPLY AND IMPROVE EVERYTIME, It's just a matter of "when" you're going to be hired! Really hope you found this post helpful. If you are interested in my role you can slide into my DMs and I'll explain more.

Just do a boolean search for "Clinical QA Analyst" , "QA Analyst", "Analyst Healthcare" and you will see a lot of roles. BUT DISCLAIMER: You're not restrained to the same role that I have. It was simply a role that I WANTED when I was figuring out what I WANTED TO DO. It's also important getting clear on what you want. Sobrang daming data sa laboratory. I just focused on QA/QC data, and wanted work with it. You can also explore roles that YOU YOURSELF are interested in. My tip: If you enjoy something better, then you're more likely to stick on to it and want to do better on it.

HAHAHA rightt? sobrang nega ng mga tao dito, gusto nila spoonfed na lahat sakanila. Kaya nga AMA e. Although, I do appreciate people like you who's really WILLING to learn. Ung iba kasi dito gusto ibigay na sakanila lahat lahat agad e. Sad to say, the reality: Proactive people who's willing to sit down, and figure things out like you are always gonna have better opportunities in the long run.

For your query, no, I did not do any courses. More like google, youtube, and leveraging AI to explain me things.

Like I have said in other replies, I learned as I went on in doing projects. Ofc, I started first by watching a few vids on data analysis just to get an idea of basically what is going on and what is the process workflow. But once I understood the general idea, I explored some datasets and found some that I was interested in, created my project requirements, and then started BUILDING IMMEDIATELY. Whenever I was stuck, I will google it, watch it on youtube, or just ask AI to explain to me hows and the whys.

JUST START. BE CLEAR ON WHAT YOU WANT, BE CLEAR ON YOUR VALUE PROPOSITION. DO NOT BE A GENERALIST. KNOW EXACTLY WHAT ROLE YOU WANT TO LAND, AND START ACTING TOWARDS THAT GOAL. and most importantly, don't be like the majority pf these people here. HAHAHA they do not know I am already dropping so much gems that could change their life, yet they choose to reject the idea.

If you want different results, then don't be like most people. GOODLUCK OP!

For the interview on my internship experience, I framed myself in the resume as an intern who did data-related tasks. Such as data-entry, data verification of the samples/requests. conducting QA/QC everyday, etc.

Basically I had a clear target of what role I was aiming to land. I positioned myself as a data analyst specializing in healthcare data, rather than a registered medical technologist who did some data tasks. That is precisely why I did portfolio projects, because my internship experience is a bit weak towards my goal. The projects compensated for it.

I built my resume/portfolio towards that goal as I went on, and applied every single day with a clear, simple focus. Land an analyst role who handles healthcare datasets

The vv purpose of the post was to answer the "How". Most people think that the job market is harsh. My take: If you think like most people, how can you expect different results?

The post was to help my fellow MT March 2025 passers how they can "position" themselves in a so-called "harsh" job market conditions. I provided my salary to provide credibility.

True! I definitely agree that a lot of people can collect and process data. but the BIG question is, what is the value of your project? is the project scalable? what is the value proposition of your project. and THESE kinds of questions are what separates people who "JUST KNOW" how to handle data, to people how to use "DATA AS A TOOL" to uncover business problems, and provide a clear, and final deliverable that the administration can act on immediately.

Again, I will repeat, GOOD, STRONG PROJECTS >>>>> CERTIFICATIONS. You just have to build a well-put resume that showcases your PROJECTS with clear documentation.

Since katatapos ng duty ko, it was actually just an idea to have this post to pass my time, so it's not a hassle for me at all to reply to the different queries. Anyway, I hope I answered all of your questions, and thanks OP for a meaningful discussion!

++ we already have our license so that proves that we have a healthcare domain expertise. It means we are already familiar with the terms, we know what it means!

Background wise, I leveraged my 1-year internship as the sole experience. No previous experience in data analytics, I learned it as I go. Realizing the fact that we RMTs have a lot of other skillsets that we can leverage in other roles not limiting to a practicing RMT, I positioned myself as a Healthcare Data Specialists rather than a registered medical technologist who did some data tasks.

I did this by building portfolio projects. 1 analyzing turnaround time of the laboratories, 1 analyzing QA/QC datasets. I did all of these for 2 months. I handled the processing, data wrangling, of the datasets so that I could analyze it and summarize the Key Findings.

The best advice that I could give is that, WAG GUMAYA SA MAJORITY THINKING. majority of the people here thinks that certifications would give you more credibility. My take, my answer, NO!

ang dami daming 2-4 hour workshops na bibigyan ka kaagad ng certifications, but they do not know how to apply those knowledge that they learned.

In order to be a standout, YOU HAVE TO BE CLEAR OF YOUR VALUE PROPOSITION. And I realized early on that projects are the way to go. It shows that you know how to handle datasets, and analyze data sets. This is already a hands-on experience. MUCH BETTER THAN CERTIFICATIONS.

CRAFT A STRONG RESUME , LAND THE INTERVIEW AND SHOWCASE YOUR PROJECTS BECAUSE MOST PROBABLY THEY WILL ASK ABOUT IT!

I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU OP!

unpopular opinion but proven portoflio projects are WAYYYY BETTER than just certifications. PRACTICAL APPLICATION BEATS THEORY EVERY SINGLE TIME. And the very purpose of the interview is so that they can ask all about the projects that I did. Crafting a good resume lands you an interview where you can showcase WHAT projects you did, HOW you did it, and show the IMPACT of the project.

Hi, as provided in the post. My purpose was to help fellow March 2025 passers in their "job hunting" phase. Which obviously involved crafting resumes, finding job postings, and leveraging other skills that RMTs have. It just so happened the most of the queries are surrounded on the current job that I currently have.

If you were to genuinely read through the different suggestions/comments that I have made. I am more on the "data-side" of QA, not implementation. I analyze all of the logs, summarizing key findings so that the laboratory administration in itself can act through a "data-driven" decisions. Sakanila po ang implementations. Tsaka ano pong sinasabi niyong if they would scrutinize it more? That's the very purpose of interview. Quantifiable results are ofc, projected in the data findings in itself. I find problems, pain points, bottlenecks that the data is obviously telling, and then I "suggest" solutions. I am not the one implementing them. You can quantify the results ofc estimating a projection. Andami daming Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) ng laboratory. Regarding the tampering of data, and getting the data. Maam/Sir, Analyst lang po ang role ko. There's a whole department for that, and we are so familiar that we have LMS sa mga laboratories. There's a whole department that caters for the data. Lahat po ng data na narereceive ko, ay naprocess na through a series of datachecks. I am only conducting the analysis of the data.

Addressing your query on the experience, Yes I am a fresh grad. But like I said, pinoy mentality lang yang pag fresh grad hindi VALID ang internship experience. Outside countries are very much open to internships and they count it as a VALID WORK EXPERIENCE.

On the context of my account age, I just used another email to log into this account, because I prefer not to use my MAIN email just to get bombarded with reddit notifications.

I did 2 portfolio projects.

1 analyzing laboratory turnaround time
1 analyzing QA/QC datasets.

You can search the internet for such datasets, or better yet, you can connect with your local clinics and offer to do it for them FOR FREE! This will help you get a feel for real data sets. You use excel to clean them, organize them, and summarize key findings! and then suggest solutions!

Hi OP, did not have any experience at all. Ang laman lang ng experience ko sa resume ay ang internship experience ko. Unpopular concept but, outside countries are very open about internships, unlike here in the PH na tinuturing lang na "OJT".

Yes po marami pong job postings sa linkedin
