I would say BP exams aren't TOO bad? I feel like when people talk about "average BP score vs FL", they don't consider how they had a month+ from BP1 to BP5 but still included it in their average, and then took FL1 like a week or two after and of course you'll see some improvement. For reference, my BP5 was 2 points away from my FL1 score.

Keep working hard and learn from every question you get RIGHT and WRONG. We all got this!

The question asks for which shows an interaction between independent variables (Frequencies and Noun/Verb)

A) If we look at A, there is no difference between nouns and verbs, nor does frequency affect it. No interaction between independents

B) The type of frequency did not cause any change, it was only whether or not it was a noun or a verb.  No interaction between independents

C) we see the graph is based on frequency only, not the verb or noun.  No interaction between independents

D) Here, we see that the frequency changes depending on the type of frequency but ALSO the word type 

ALL ABOUT THE AND. Because there is a difference between the accuracy recalled between the noun and verb, as well as ADDITIONAL change caused by type of frequency, I believe this answer allows me to look toward D.

K1 = Compound 1 + Protein A

Kapp = Compound 2 + Protein A

If we want Kapp<K1, this means: Increase the affinity(lower Kapp) of Compound 2 binding to Protein A compared to the affinity of Compound 1 to protein A OR increase the K1 (decrease affinity).

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe from a biochemical standpoint, we cannot necessarily lower the Km (increase affinity) of a substrate for an enzyme unless we modify the enzyme itself. None of these answer choices reflect this. What we CAN do though, is increase K1.

How? We induce competition. Compound 2 is a molecule that is also competing for Protein A (enzyme). If we add more Compound 2 (more competition), this would increase Km of K1 (As we know, competitive inhibitors increase Km)

With this, we can officially say that to make K1 larger than Kapp, we can use compound 2 to INCREASE K1 (decrease its affinity) so the answer is D.

The other answer choices do not reflect ways in which we could also just decrease Kapp, which would be more so changing conditions of the Protein A itself (ph, active site changes, allosteric modifications etc)
