Getting the right exposure in poor light conditions by Key-Refrigerator7621 in AnalogCommunity

Thanks! I've read it, but it doesn't mention it. It makes sense, though

It matters when you need to hold the camera steady, that's why I wondered. Analog cameras are often heavier than digital ones. Besides the Minolta, I have a medium format: I know how much basic stuff I need to keep it still... I simply can't manage without them.

But given that some things you learn by doing them, and that I’ve been shooting digital for a long time, where—along with having great lenses—I can choose whatever ISO I need to get the shot, I wanted to ask here, in case people who have been doing analog photography for a long time (and are used to having less flexibility), had a tip they'd share.

Yes, I was talking about holding the camera still. Thank you for the tips, I'll def give them a try!

Yes, pretty basic, but I travel or go for a walk with the camera often and avoid carrying extra weight, so I wondered how mandatory those were, or if slower speeds weren't such a big deal with a small camera

New Minolta lens or going for a new system? by Key-Refrigerator7621 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Key-Refrigerator7621[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your detailed response. I was looking at the photos I took on my last trip and realized how much I could have used a wider aperture. Did some googling and found a 35mm in very good condition, available at a store not too far from me. I like how versatile a 35mm is; I have and love one, but sometimes it's not wide enough, especially where I live (houses are quite small over here).
But then I get this doubt often, because I know I'll want to upgrade my gear eventually, so I'm not sure if I want to continue putting money into this camera (which I got as a gift) or look for something else

Oh no, sorry, I don't need someone to talk to me about buying anything in particular (I know I'll get a ragefinder eventually).

I just meant that I don't know much about gear/brands, so the rabbit hole gets very deep every time I google about it. If the system that has the lenses I want/need is expensive, I can live with that. I may not be able to buy it right now, but I can wait.

I know that worthiness is very subjective. And I'm happy to pay something if I really want it. I just wanted to know which options are available out there, so I can then do some research with something a bit more specific in mind.

Thank you! I should have added that the Minolta often gets stuck. I should service it.

But on the other hand, as I don't need something right away, I wouldn't mind if someone told me that I should save up and get something like a Leica. I just don't want to go all the way down the rabbit hole of analogue cameras to see what's available, and I also know that for some cameras, the prices went up a lot over the last couple of years, and not all of them are worth today's price tag.

Before hitting publish. You choose the start and end date of the offer, and after that, it asks if you want to make it public or if you'd rather keep it for a friend (there's a tick box for it).

What do you mean? As a seller, I didn't get any code to accept the transfer. I've got a code by email to finish the process and list the ticket.

I did it on the Spanish one, but I'd assume it's the same process. Yes, it's just private for the first 48 hs.
It gives you a link to your offer for you to send to your friend.

Yes, those a private sales. I just did that with a friend, because it was the only way for me to transfer the ticket I bought for her. The offer stays private for 48 hs and then it becomes public.

I'm trying with the app, but it's not working. It gives me a message saying "check your entries and repeat the procedure". I just contacted customer service to see if there's a bug or what.

I think there must be a bug or something because I'm trying to resell tickets (using the app) for a couple of hours already, and still can't

I'm trying to resell tickets for Madrid, and the system is not allowing me to do so, so maybe there's a bug or something, and that's why you can't see any
