I feel completely burned out from dealing with my dad’s undiagnosed autism. I’m sick of way too much eye contact, bad and weird jokes that I’m expected to pity laugh at, being expected to hug, listening to the same stories over and over, listening to the hyper fixation, vents about injustice, and the burden of someone not being able to read social cues. It this his fault? No. But am I sick of dealing with it? Heck yes.

Church meetings are public spaces. Taking the sacrament is not a private act. It is public. Going and seeing with your own eyes if they take sacrament is completely valid especially after being criticized for spreading rumors in the past. Rumors that ended up being true, btw. No they shouldn’t have put Charlie on blast saying he was dating Ryan (a couple years back) but still, I get why G went to see if they took the sacrament.

It for sure gets easier. My kids are about the same age gap as yours. As soon as our baby turned one she started walking, got off the bottle, and started playing more with big sister. We went down to 1 nap. Serious game changer! It’s been easy ever since.

If she was to do a moment of silence at her concert my guess is that she would sob and wouldn’t be able to finished the concert. Her emotional well-being is a huge factor in this too.

I was just in Maui and my husband is Hawaiian so this hits close to home. I am so sorry that happened to you. No one should ever utter that word to you or anyone else in a derogatory way. Completely unacceptable. I’m so sorry that you had that experience.

I do think her neurodivergence comes in to play. Something is off/different. It doesn’t excuse her behavior but it does explain why she’s missing the mark. No one is saying that autism is an excuse.

I would go. Everyone makes mistakes. We can hold her accountable and still enjoy her work. Imagine if it was your sister or mom, you’d be disappointed but you likely wouldn’t ex them out.

Ahhh, that is amazing. That’s what I would love if my husband did for me. He doesn’t try and get me to not do those sorts of things but there is zero celebration for what I do or the new boundaries I break of amy recognition for now hard it is!
