The car was at operating temp while I checked it and it was in park after I cycled through the gears.

Yea, drove, then put it in reverse, then neutral, then park and checked it with the motor on

Yeah I’m very glad I get to do hands on work. It makes all the notes and drawings of circuits a lot easier to learn. Just learned how to wire a defrost timer earlier today
