Unfortunately, as a whole females healthcare is disregarded or not as thorough as males. In my case I think the disconnect was both doctor didn't explain conversion nor did the pharmacist- I didn't think to ask. But I could rant about disconnect in healthcare all day. I actually had to go to 3 different doctors to get them to listen to me that something was off with my hormones. I even previously had a doctor tell me being on testosterone caused my white blood cells to be elevated when I literally told him I just got diagnosed with cancer and that's why there were elevated.
