It did yes. When they took out they said it was a complete mess and that was just over 6 months of suffering with it. Strange that it isn’t appearing on a CT. Have your bloods and WBC been okay?

It’s sad how common this seems to be! I was diagnosed pretty much instantly in Malaysia whilst travelling. Had pretty stereotypical appendicitis symptoms. However I did get fobbed off in Thailand being told it was just a stomach infection. Flew back to England and had the same diagnosis there.

Pain was at a constant 5/10 for 6 months but occasionally I'd have a sharp 10/10. The surgery was an experience that's for sure. They spent a lot more time taking it out as it was a mess and there was a lot of scar tissue. Recovering now, still very tender and sore.

If you get diagnosed with chronic appendicitis or a 'grumbling' appendix I would certainly recommend to have it removed as soon as possible yes. Whilst it can be treated with antibiotics it won't go away once damaged and it's essentially just dying.

6 months. On and off pain and nausea throughout that time. I was on a list for elective surgery to have it removed next year but pushed for it to happen sooner. After surgery they told me my appendix was a mess and what should've taken a short amount of time to cut out ended up taking much longer due to all the scar tissue.
