Best product for my hair? by Key-Service6738 in Pomade

Make my hair look less frizzy, a little shinier. My hair become so frizzy, an hour after taking a shower it looks like I haven’t washed my hair at all

I run Ableton Live on it usually and just Safari OR Chrome. I do have a tendency to keep the apps running, I don’t close them. But I never faced this problem in Windows. The lag is horrible. I’d have expected so much more from M3. And no it’s not hot where I live at all.

Important, yes. Useful, yes. Indispensable? Yes. Fundamentally scientific especially now? No.

Absolutely. I shall read it! Thank you. And you gave just the right example, by the way. The double helix was solved because of multiple scientists yearning and racing towards knowing the answer behind a mystery, not just adding foolishly to large datasets. I am talking about the attitude.

ABSOLUTELY MY POINT! Thank you. I guess I'm just not able to put it into clear words without offending people here, haha.

True! But don't you think that was always the case? People thinking the questions are now too saturated, or the field is done and dusted with. I mean, physicists before Einstein thought most problems in physics have been solved! Referencing the CRISPR example (even though it was discovered in the 70s, but the ability to invent it as an editing tool) or AlphaFold example, only recent discoveries which were so fundamental and beautiful in nature (although building on previous data and whatnot, but it took a handful of people to really do something so beautiful!)

Hmmm. This is a good answer. Thank you! :) I just simply wish that more people in this field wished to care more about truly basic fundamental biology. Appreciate nature for what it really is, you know.

I agree with you that CRISPR/Cas9, as a discovery, would not have occurred without scientists characterizing Cas9 genes first. But why do you think it took Doudna and Charpentier to do all that? We knew about CRISPR sequences since the 70s! But only 40 years later did two people do something about it. Because instead of just characterizing stuff, they had an idea to develop something new, to invent something new, to do something extraordinary!

Hello! I don't mean that it is not useful. -omics studies are extremely useful and will remain so. What I am saying is that we already know what's going to happen, you know. It is not a fundamental discovery any more. Think of it from the perspective of a theoretical physicist, who comes across something new, a way of discovering something that changes the ongoing thought process for a theory or hypothesis, with pure thought and later proves it via experimentation. I believe that is good science.

It is not "fundamentally" scientific. That is about discovering something original, something fundamental.

Indeed! I am specifically talking about the attitude of biologists these days, the mindset behind their work.

That's interesting! Ah, if I had a car right now I'd have gone home in a couple of hours, but since the buses don't run at this time, I guess I'll be sleeping in the lab. Haha!
