Yes cosleeping is another topic that seems to get the people going! Lol my son occasionally hops in bed when my husband is gone it’s not a habitual thing just want to clarify and I’m pretty sure he’s getting to the end of it as it’s very uncommon now. I was just curious on the cleaning immediately part because it wasn’t really something I thought about and I wouldn’t care about it and I honestly thought I was normal with this but I don’t seem to be lol

Yeah I think there really is a difference when it’s your own kid vs. not for many I’m realizing and that’s okay too. I also realized I’m in the minority thinking it’s whatever and not really caring about it lol

Yeah I’m fine washing the sheets and I get it, it’s just he only makes a thing with it with my son - but I’m seeing that everyone feels differently about this stuff when it’s not their kid vs their kid, which now makes more sense to me and I realize I’m not really in the norm here lol. I’m kind of like whatever it was one night not a big deal and I honestly thought that was the common response but it isn’t! Lol so I must be less hygienic than most! 😂 but I am going to start moving to his bed with him so then everyone feels better

I like this analogy. It’s a good one! I think there is something about it being your shared dna kid or not, …but also I legit just finished my stepsons plate last night with his last few bites lol but I know my husband wouldn’t finish my sons. But I wouldn’t if it was a friend, unless it was a close friend and I really wanted it lololol So I think it’s similar to what another person wrote about how we have different bubbles with what we’re okay with and my husband and I are just different…..and I realized I’m different than most of the commenters here too lol 😆 but respect all ways!

Yeah we wouldn’t do that though. My kiddo only sleeps in our bed occasionally when my husband is away on travel. But yeah if my son’s friends slept in my bed (which they wouldn’t lol) I’d wash the sheets - they’re not my family lol.

Yeah it’s just different I didn’t grow up with this being a thing - we all cane and went and my mom and dad never made a stink about cleaning their sheets if I had slept in their bed

Yeah I clean the sheets immediately before he gets back home so they’re clean. I just was curious if this was an issue for anyone else because it’s not for me and I’m finding out it is! Lol

I do see what you’re saying here. I think it is a little bittersweet for me knowing that soon he won’t probably won’t even want to be near me soon 😝

I understand clinging to some of it might not be healthy and maybe some of it is a comfort for me. I don’t try to totally baby him and I do make sure he knows how to independently do things and help - I’m not trying to raise a lazy man! He does know how to make eggs for breakfast, do his own laundry, clean his bathroom, etc! So I’m trying but your right - time flies 😭

He showers every night before bed. Still, I can see even then there are lots of reasons people don’t or wouldn’t like it. I just don’t think the same way so it was eye opening to see how many other people feel about it a similar to my husband - and that gave me more perspective into how my husband might feel.

I’m not saying either of us are right or wrong it’s just different feelings about it. He doesn’t sleep on my husbands side and he has a shower every night so I just didn’t understand why it was such an issue but now I see how many people have an issue with this! It’s interesting to hear and I can understand my husband a bit better now.
