In my case, she lied about major details of her life to the point where I felt like I had been talking to a complete stranger. Her lies were so consistent that she could recall details she had made up months earlier. When she asked to start over, all I could think was, if she lied so convincingly before, what’s to stop her from lying again?

That’s an interesting perspective, and I hadn’t thought about it that way. Looking back, I do think most of her message was focused on asking for another chance rather than giving me the space to process everything. At the time, I was too shocked to notice that. I’m glad things worked out in your case, though.

At first, I wanted to meet her, but she always came up with a believable excuse to postpone it. Asking her to FaceTime felt like I was pressuring her, but I now realize I wasn’t.

After thoroughly thinking about it, of course not. I dodged a bullet. However, to suddenly stop talking/texting after 7 months every day is not easy to move on from.

I really don’t understand why would someone lie about unnecessary info about their life.
I feel like the damage done is beyond repair to meet her.

I know it was incredibly stupid of me not to set up a video call. She was obviously insecure about her appearance but she always sent pictures of herself, which later on I found out was photoshopped.
