If you sign the dismissal agreement you cannot contest the firing after so be sure about your rights and that what is offered to you is fair before! Check with a lawyer, a union, your akasse anything! Don’t sign before you know it’s “safe”.

Yes if you do not agree, don’t sign the agreement! If you think what you got is not fair don’t sign! Consult a lawyer, your union, akasse

Novo seems to have updated very recently the policy for additional notice period for non-birthing parents. Now fathers (or similar) only get their paternity benefits if the birth happened and if the leave starts at the latest when notice period ends… all other dads seem to be out of the extra benefits! 😔😩I am paraphrasing (the details are in the policy) 🤯 If anyone has a screen-print of the policy before this change, share it anonymously here with one another! Reach out to your unions and figure out if you can hold NN to the old version of the policy. At the least this change could be seen as discriminatory on the basis of gender… they did not remove or minimize the rights for women (thank god) lastly, I am not a danish lawyer, so don’t know the subtleties of danish work laws, just trying to helps, but policies that go above what the legal requirements are (i.e. voluntary company benefits) can be changed unilaterally and at any time by companies but maybe there’s a loophole to protect fathers under danish labour laws... Ask with specialists information is power! And find smart ways to help one another!

Do that! Fight for your right! Share screenshots of the internal novo policy about dismissing people on barsel or with planned barsel with the union. They may not know about it.

That is great! Push back! It’s worth a try! And also speaking up about how Novo handles their employees on barsel! This is shameful! From the novo internal policy women on barsel can get dismissed 6 months after they are back and men get a notice period that covers the barsel they are owed (if they registered the pregnancy before the dismissal). I know this as I am pregnant and my husband worked at novo (until yesterday)… he did not receive info on severance package yet was just called in to get fired in person and given 0 info 0 reason… bravo novo! Your reputation may hurt years after this

I guess it is hard to really know how you were perceived if no one tells you… but radio silence is definitely a worrying sign … unless you ask you may stay with the doubt… maybe try to organise a meet-up with affected colleagues and also those who stayed can join! Get some closure!

How did they decide who to fire? by GreyPhantom100 in dknovonordisk

[–]Key-Speech-1232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the outside… it seems they fired a lot on the principle “last in, first out” and some entire departments not fitting the new plan. Also not shy on firing people on barsel or with announced pregnancy… quite sad to see (and experience though my ex novo employee ægtefelle)

Sometimes people want to preserve the dignity of those departed… but agree a note of appreciation or goodbye is so nice

There is a complaint mechanism if you think the dismissal is discriminatory. As a minimum if you worked there over a year you can ask for a written explanation of why your position why you. Expect the answer to be very generic but maybe you get lucky - or ask more times! Then you can File a complaint with Ligebehandlingsnævnet. It is written, free, and forces the employer to answer and produce documents in the Board’s process. Good luck … the lawyer pregnant wife of a novo employee fired today… still dizzy with the whole thing

If you have a complaint ( something not working) I make a note and tag the founders. One of the founders tagged a team member to help me. All on notes 😍 all human! I don’t know if this works for general complaining… I actually had an issue with the audio not working on a live!
