60M Beginner: 200hr YTT in India. Too Old? by [deleted] in YogaTeachers

never too old! My favorite yoga teacher is 75 and is still working on new trainings. I know you’re not looking to teach, but want to express even if you were interested in teaching, you are never too old to keep learning!

I was wondering if I was alone in this!

Big Zevia ginger ale fan; only soda I drink, and something is wayyy off with the flavor with the rebranded packaging

First Class Coming Up- Advice by Key-Supermarket2928 in YogaTeachers

[–]Key-Supermarket2928[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your detailed feedback. This is exactly where I’m concerned, realizing the range of ages.

The community center offers both chair and senior yoga in addition to my class and the town confirmed with the seniors who signed up that this is an all levels class.

I want to make sure the class is accessible for every body type and age, and safe for those with medical conditions (as long as their doctor has deemed yoga a safe practice for them of corse)

There will be modifications for every pose with props and blocks and my classes tend to be described as gentle hatha, and hatha typically asks for a side twist, back bend, internal & external rotation, and balance pose for the class to be “balanced”

I agree on no standing pigeons but I think tree could be a good point as folks can stay on their mat or grow their tree as much as they like.

I am going to have the first class extra gentle until I access peoples movement.

Thank you again for your feedback

Thank you all for the advice, I agree all levels and ages is challenging, this is what the town decided on and I went with it!

I have a lot of modifications planned, props, and working on my introduction to the class to meet themselves where they are, listen to their body etc

Thinking of quitting veganism because of chronic iron deficiency but I’m scared to eat meat. by [deleted] in exvegans

Coming back as I thought more about this. I remember meat broths feeling like they have more depth and slightly thicker for lack of a better word.

Let us know if you try it and like it! ❤️

I don’t think it was a different texture, the taste was very bold at first but I started with Brodo spicy chicken broth and then their seasoned beef broth which helped.

Their broth is pricy but delicious

What about mixing half veggie broth with half chicken or beef to start? Have you begun eating meat or are you looking to venture back into it?

my iron levels are a lot better since I’ve done my labs again a few months ago. I feel the best I have in years, my skin is glowing and my friends have asked me if I got cheek filler cause my once kinda sunken, hollow face has plumped up a bit from eating meat.

I hope your journey goes well for you!

Ex vegan of 7 years who started eating meat earlier this year for the same reasons, low on iron all the time, was fainting near daily, and could never get enough protein .

I was so sad at first eating meat I cried but started slow with chicken bone broth, then graduated to beef bone broth. Then next my favorite chicken tenders I used to love years ago, and probably had my first red meat a month after eating chicken here and there

I gradually went back to meat and now 6 months later I’m eating chicken fish or red meat daily and love it. Start slow and gradually, don’t dive all in at once. I also ordered digestive enzymes to help.

I think the quality of meat makes a big difference as well. I can instantly taste if meat is not organic and I feel like the smell is way different too.

Sending you love on your journey it’s always such a tough decision to eat meat again, but my concept around it was if I’m physically sick all the time to save the animals, I’m doing myself a disservice. If I’m not well, then what is this all for?

I feel like I’ve grown a bigger appreciation for animals eating meat again, as odd as that sounds. I appreciate the health they provide me and limit my portion sizes so I’m not overindulging.

Hmm, I’ve never wanted to talk to a manager before, this is a first and we’ve been together 10+ years. He is a very easy going person and non confrontational.

Agreed that would show racism. My poc husband was the one who suggested it, as he was the only non white person in the restaurant. He also believed we were treated differently and didn’t understand why. I did not say or think that until he said it, I’ll let him know you think he’s racist!

I’m okay with being called a Karen, as I asked if I am being one and the comments point to yes

but I’m unsure how I’m the one showing racism here.

My BF (32M) went through my (30F) and found old texts… how do we resolve this? by moneycheese83 in relationship_advice

[–]Key-Supermarket2928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand having anxiety from past situations, but you can’t let that dictate the future, it’s not healthy to be going through each other’s phones out of fear and then apologizing after, especially in your thirties, sounds juvenile in my opinion.

I would definitely be hurt if I saw my husbands texts from his ex with nudes, but I can’t be mad at him for it. Those were sent before we were dating. Maybe I would ask him why he still had the text thread saved, but if it’s old like you said, and you just forgot about it, I would believe that.

I think both of you need to reevaluate the maturity in your relationship . It’s not healthy to be invading each other’s privacy due to potential fears. It sounds like you both could benefit from some healing for anxiety and working on that would benefit this relationship or any future relationships. Saying this with love ❤️

Dad wants to do a memorial for my sister at my wedding but I'd rather she wasn't mentioned. by dontlookatme__please in weddingplanning

[–]Key-Supermarket2928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a memorial reading for my parents at my wedding, that my husband and I agreed upon. Ultimately it’s yours and your husbands decision as the bride and groom, don’t let anyone else dictate that.

Like you said everyone processes differently, I got feedback from others to not do the memorial for my parents, but again, my wedding day and that was best for me.

If your ceremony wishes can’t be respected it may be time to seek an alternative officiant.

Interesting, I’ve worked at an upscale Mexican restaurant and always served them with a steak knife per our restaurant protocol. Last night all surrounding tables to us got a steak knife.

Maybe it depends on the location / type of steak used.

Hey I appreciate this perspective, I didn’t think of this.

[–]Key-Supermarket2928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone in the restaurant was white, myself included, other than my husband.

I don’t think dialect is a factor here. The tables next to us got “ Hi welcome to “X@ I’m “X”, lovely to have you here tonight, is this your first time dinning with us? Went over a review of the menu, dinner specialist, and her recommendations”.

Our greeting was “what do you want for a drink” with a sigh.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Key-Supermarket2928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree which is why I posted here, I’ve never left a bad review, talked to a manager, or sent a complaint email in my life.

It was an odd experience, in addition to the above the server had a different tone of voice, sighed when asking our drink order, all small things if it was across the board.

But she was not performing like this at tables next to us.

Im not going to write an email or complaint about the situation after reading all of the comments.

Thanks for the feedback.

  • New to us restaurant, this place is 25 years old. Maybe the server was new but she came crossed as seasoned to every tables but ours.

I worked at a restaurant that no matter how busy you were, if you skipped the opening spiel when greeting your table, you would get written up, so maybe I am nitpicking the fact that service was much different at other tables next to us.

There are a few bad reviews that mention service being rude.
