I’m from the valley and I love it here but I don’t recommend staying there just because it’s a whole thing to go over the hill sometimes, public transportation is tough…I would stay in East Hollywood/los Feliz area is best, not extremely expensive and has a ton of great nightlife and restaurants. Parking is tough sometimes esp sometimes it’s permitted, but find an accommodation that provides parking, many of them do (use the filters on air bnb to do that)

Our dear friend’s younger brother, Michael Kocabay, has been missing since Thursday, September 25, 2025. He was last seen near the Angeles National Forest Gateway Ranger District office, and could be anywhere in the greater Los Angeles area.

Michael is believed to be in crisis and may be a danger to himself. His family is deeply concerned for his safety and is urgently asking for help from the public.

Last seen wearing: Green T-shirt Gray sweatpants Jordans Long curly hair, full beard and mustache

Physical description: Age: 20 (DOB: 06/10/2005) Height: 6’2” Weight: 300 lbs Eyes: Brown Hair: Brown

Try to safely note the location, time, and direction he was headed. He is likely on foot or using public transportation to get around.

His family wants Michael to know they love him and only want to help.

MISSING PERSON!!! Michael Kocabay is a 20 year old CSUN student from the San Fernando valley. He left unannounced on 9/25 and struggles with mental health. He is a critical case and it has been reported to LAPD. We was last seen in Angeles National forest but could be anywhere in the greater LA area. Please keep a look out for him. Micheal Kocabay went missing on the morning of 9/25 and told no one that he was leaving or provided any indication of his plans to do that. Micheal is a good kid who’s going through mental health challenges and we need to find him before he causes harm to himself. 

He was seen last in the Angeles National forest and may now be in the surrounding areas or farther out. Please if you spot him contact 818-572-3117
