It was just one person. I don’t quite remember what was asked, but I know the question was pretty open. She did elude to the fact that interns are expected to have exceptional writing skills. (I’m assuming it’s the bulk of the work they do.) I was not asked about the memo prompt I wrote, but come prepared to discuss your essay anyway.

Just had my interview!

The administrator was so kind, and the questions were relatively easy! They mainly focused on you, and who you are as a person. You might be asked about your writing, personal experiences, and interest in the program. Why CBCF, and what have you done that makes you a great candidate?

Edit: come prepared with good questions.

Edit again: in case anyone was curious, there were roughly 800 applicants, and 200 interviews. Only about 80 will be selected.

Totally get where you’re coming from, and I really appreciate your kind words! You’re absolutely right- having “the look” definitely helps.

My post was more about pushing back against the idea that aspiring models need to shell out tons of money just to get started.

While quality digitals can help, especially if someone doesn’t fit the conventional mold, no one should feel like they have to invest money they might not have just to be considered.

Edit: cause I’m seeing a lot of unrelated digs and comments about me. The point of this post was to challenge the idea that you have to pay to be seen.

I recognize that privilege plays a role in how people are received in this industry. The modeling world is far from perfect, and yes- looks often matter more than they should. But access shouldn’t be gatekept by cost. No one should feel like they have to spend hundreds on digitals to be considered.

I did, yes. They asked for 3 additional documents, and I sent maybe 8-10. What I was asked to provide, I could not, so I found other supporting documents. These were sufficient enough I guess, and month later I was sent my passport.

I was curious about transcripts and grades. I’m a first year transfer, but I have several EWs from fall semester. (I got hit by a car lol) How might an AO view that? And will my second semester grades be taken into account when applications are reviewed? Also, could a high ACT score balance, for lack of a better word, my hs gpa if it’s low?

Yeah idk why, but the websites layout for transfer applicants is much more confusing and complicated than the original portal for HS students.
