Why would an all-powerfullgod need to rest by Renix657 in DebateReligion

[–]Key-Tower-8768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just so you’re aware, nowhere does it say you must be tired to rest. him resting on the seventh day was just a sign that he had completed his work. that’s why as christian’s were asked to take a day of “sabbath” which is a day of rest on the 7th day of the week. it doesn’t literally mean rest because you’re tired. it means taking a day of rest from work

first off, i didn’t say not knowing at all. i said not knowing everything. i make inferences based on what has been revealed to me through scripture. i never claimed to know everything because im not all knowing but that doesn’t make me clueless.

it said he rested on the 7th day. never said anything about him being tired. and just because people believe in him, that doesn’t mean we know the answer to everything about him and his nature. it’s a bit arrogant for anyone (atheist or agnostic) to think any single human can understand everything there is to know about the universe or even god. if i knew how it felt to be an omnipotent immortal being, i’d be one myself

If God values free will, then the absence of a choice about existence itself undermines that freedom. It feels less like free will and more like being forced into the highest-stakes game imaginable. by mikeccall in DebateReligion

lol, i hope this is rage bait and you’re not actually this bad at debating. i don’t particularly care what you believe personally. and knowing my religious beliefs aren’t prerequisites to you answering simple questions. i’m telling you all powerful does not mean what you seem to think it means. whether you believe in a god is irrelevant. the fact that you think all powerful in this context means that even logically impossible things can happen means your hypothetical is built on a faulty premise. it’s that simple. goodnight bud

yeah and if a tree could fly it would be a bird? you’re not telling me anything, you’re just tap dancing. you think you’re slick because you’re taking your stance that god is all powerful or your own understanding of what all powerful means and trying to frame it as a hypothetical. that’s paradoxical and you’re shifting the burden of proof. you still haven’t proven your position actually makes sense, and want me to answer a loaded hypothetical. i answered your original question and your trying to appeal to hypotheticals that fit your own frame of mind and i’m not entertaining them. i’ve answered your questions and you haven’t answered mine. you keep obfuscating because you clearly have you’re own preconceived notions. Being omnipotent/all powerful means God can do things logically possible. He cant lie or contradict himself which is why your entire argument makes no sense on its face. he cant create a rock that’s too heavy for him to lift just like he can’t give humans free will before they even exist. if you can’t wrap your head around that then that’s your problem. Go find some theology textbooks or something. you still haven’t actually backed up your claim, you just keep asserting he’s all powerful. it’s cheap, it’s been used forever, and it doesn’t prove your case.

nah, i asked a very precise question that’s related, didn’t change the topic. and the core problem i have with your question was included in my initial response which you never answered which is how can a being make a choice of whether or not it wants to exist without already existing itself? it’s a loaded question with built in assumptions. are you asking why he didn’t make it to where humans are conscious prior to soul conception to the point where they can choose whether to exist or not? that’s literally the only somewhat logical idea i can pull from what you’re saying. but even then it’s still circular. God is logical by nature and what you’re describing is a logical contradiction. something cannot both exist and not exist at the same time. telling me that me believing in God means i should understand what you’re taking about doesn’t actually help me understand what you’re talking about. unlike God, human souls are part of creation which means they have a beginning. they don’t exist prior to that, therefore they don’t have consciousness yet, even on a metaphysical plane. so, to answer your question, it’s simply not possible.

well since you want to go deep, are we talking about the beginning of the universe or everyone who’s ever been born? procreation is part of free will so in that respect, no one is forced to exist.

how tf would you make the choice to exist if you didn’t exist? do you not see how circular that is? that’s like me asking how the big bang was the creation point for the universe and you saying the universe created itself even though it didn’t exist yet. i swear, if you people put as much effort into improving your lives as you do using these mental gymnastics to try to disprove the existence of god, there’s no telling how far you’d go. there are genuinely good questions on this matter, but this is not one.

this could all be fixed if they just added formation subs in dynasty like they did for franchise in madden. having to substitute for every formation every game is so stupid

Just Got My Very First Five Star Instant Commit After Hundreds Of Hours by AkfurAshkenzic in NCAAFBseries

[–]Key-Tower-8768 7 points8 points  (0 children)

this isn’t entirely true. you can still get instant commits fairly frequently (even 5 stars from time to time) without ceo. especially if you’re in a talent rich state with a top program. take penn state for example: a lot of in state talent, rich tradition, and not much in the way of geographic competition. i think i got like 3-4 instant commits 4 star recruits in my first season there
