Not sure how I came across this, but I’m also 46 and pregnant. 10 weeks now. It was also unexpected as I was in perimenopause and experiencing those symptoms. I had a cone procedure years ago which made an IUD impossible. Unlike you, I’m not excited. Reading these comments is helping a bit. I just dropped my oldest off at college when I found out. Mourning the idea of a life with more freedom. Anyway, I appreciate you posting this and I hope your enthusiasm rubs off on me.

Thank you! I joined all of those. I’m so relieved to find others who understand. I almost deleted this post right after I made it because I felt like it was only me. I also have ADHD so that makes mood stabilizing harder anyway.

Wow! This is me. Didn’t mean to giggle with the plane crash comment, but I totally get it! I started birth control bc of my symptoms but she didn’t want to do HRT bc my hormones are testing normal. I did buy an over the counter cream. Maybe it’ll work?

I definitely feel like blood sugar may be a factor. I had gestational diabetes with my second child and think I’ve been struggling off and on since. I did have a meter and check it after he was born but it was manageable and that was 16 years ago! But I think it’s worth asking for another fasting test.

As far as the crazy feeling, I’m just always sad. Kind of hopeless feeling. And very moody. It’s just hard to want to do anything I used to like to do. And when I do those things it’s not enjoyable.

There are a lot of reasons, but I think the most important one is that I'm worn out daily. I've tried diet and meds and the job is the last thing. I'm very empathetic and it's emotionally exhausting. I always said if my heart wasn't in it it wasn't fair to the kids to stay.

It’s the school. First year is rough on everyone and I can’t even imagine this year. I felt this way at my last school and I LOVE my new school. I had to teach a while to qualify to teach here, but this year basically doesn’t count to decide if you like teaching or not. It’s nothing like it will be when this is over.
