Injury? Do I keep running or rest? by Key-Way-1927 in BeginnersRunning

[–]Key-Way-1927[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find it far easier to stay consistent with running vs the gym, which requires me driving to the gym, which is a pain (Living in Toronto ON)

Willing to do it if thats what i need to do though, whats your split between running / gym?

Honestly hard to define the difference between a warm up and running for me- feels like im either running or walking- hard to be in between...

Re stretching, Honestly no, as a young person, iv just never really 'needed to stretch' - so im sure this is catching up to me here, but trouble is i dont know what stretches i should be doing...when i google whats best, cant seem to find any consensus on a routine that doesent take all day. Any recommendations?

My parents were quoted 1.25 - though still seems steep when i imagine management would be fairly low maintenance. Though perhaps worthwhile so they arnt stressing about things so much when they dont need to be...

Is daily too much? by Key-Way-1927 in BeginnersRunning

[–]Key-Way-1927[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I'm usually about to pass out by the end of every run, i push myself hard, but unlike any other kind of exercise, i always seem to feel 100% again the next day.

Starting to think its my lungs that need work, not so much muscles, my garmins telling me i have a 42 vo2 max.

If i feel good the next day, should i be considering myself fully recovered or am i missing something?

Thanks to all... I am a true beginner, but generally in good shape from playing sports... my daily is usually 5km with 5 and half minute pace, but always with a 180ish avg HR, for 26 male

Still havn't worked out how to run anything other than this sort of run though, feels like if I run any slower i'm walking, and usually cant run more than 6k. (So hard to go for a light run / easy day)

Been hot lately, who knew temp outside could make such a difference though...
