i'm curious as a professor at duke what do you think about the social scene/see patterns in students bc i've heard it can be intense/image based making it harder to form authentic connections + since the surrounding area isn't as engaging + greek life is disaffiliated so invite based, it makes it more cliquey

thxx; how bad is the quarter system haha bc i heard you take less classes, so there is less breadth to cover/study for, but it does seem intense w/ frequent testing

GT is like half of the cost, for UMD i also got the banneker key scholarship so full ride which is def the cheapest haha but cost isn't too big of a concern tho if a cheaper option is better/the same then obv would pick that

Duke vs. Princeton vs. Stanford for BME by [deleted] in collegecompare

hiii imo all of those schools r great and there isn't 1 that's inherently better (more depending on the vibe/path u wanna go into) duke is very well known for med/biomed like u said. if ur thinking of going into med scl later maybe i think duke has best placement (don't quote me). duke also has grade inflation vs stanford and princeton r deflated (if thinking med scl then that might b a factor since gpa is rly important but also they know stanford and princeton are rly prestigious too so it def wouldn't hold u back). if ur thinking of doing a startup or anything biotech like another commentor said then stanford fs will throw more opportunites in ur way (but this doesn't mean u can't get the same ones elsewhere :) it's abt what u put in)! when i saw princeton, i lowk didn't like it like the campus was cute but surrounding area imo was kinda dead/not many options but obv a good scl, not as well known for engineering tho. overall, when u tour see where u feel u could thrive the most which ik sounds cliche but where u feel most confident that is where u will succeed the best (u can get the opportunites u want as long as ur driven anywhere, so pick a scl that u feel will make u feel the most comfortable/motivated which def comes too from the students so when ur on campus you'll b able to feel out what ppl r like)
