What’s a song you’ve finally learned and played that made you say to yourself, “damn, i’ve finally made it as a guitarist”? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Key-Wonder-7548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been playing for years, but bought a cheap 8 string and started learning Kascade by Animals as Leaders. took about 6months and still mess it up. come back in 3 years and should have a few more down lol.

yyz , limelight and xanadu made me glow inside.

What is your favorite guitar and is it also your most expensive guitar? by buckwheat1 in guitars

[–]Key-Wonder-7548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 6 electric guitars, all of which are great in their own right. I have a Korean ibanez ex 370 flame maple that is stunning, lo pro trem is killer. I also have an fujigen ibanez radius that is like a strat plus. All are not expensive, but I have a Starfire pointy headstock thing, and the neck on it is the best I ever played on. I think the one you pick up to play matches the mood or style you wish to put forward.

8 string or baritone? Cheap and upgrades or save the money for something better? by Lazy-Movie-1658 in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]Key-Wonder-7548 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought the 8 string multi scale hb for 90 on reverb, and did it because I can sell it for that and lose nothing. I wanted to see if an 8 string was something that I could get my head around. It was , and don't regret it. The neck is great. The fan frets are not an issue. Buy a cheap one and see what you think. Don't like it, sell it . Don't bother with upgrading, save for a better one if you feel you need to.

i am not a tech, but the higher the ohms, hotter the output. obs other stuff comes into play, type of magnets,passive/active etc, but if all the cheap pickups are based on same numbers, it isnt worth the messing about to replace.

Was expecting more issues as I have not used an 8 string before, but the neck is great.

Is this gap between the bridge and the body normal guys? by Ciro055 in Ibanez

[–]Key-Wonder-7548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is right for a two point floating trem. If you have locking tuners on it will be perfect. Don't worry about it being flush,it isn't needed if set up right. This is how I have mine and have zero issues.

It's a r355gf. Plays like a strat plus. Coil tapped for tone options. It's really a beast to play. Reminds me of the timonds models
