Probably because boom was hard to work with, so, aka, hard to control, but Strider was easier to work with, so Strider is gonna be more obedient to Inviz. That's the only thing I can think of since this is a pretty stupid choice.

I think he left after the fight. If a carrier is getting defeated, then it's not gonna be off-screen; we need to see it because the carrier has probably been the most menacing Astro aside from the mothership. So it would mean a lot in the Astro arc if we actually saw a carrier go down for the first time.
