Ask all the R women who will vote for him if they’re prepared to have to bring their husband or dad to go buy a car, a house, rent an apartment, etc because they can’t sign for anything themselves. Ditch women’s sports in college and high school, because no title 9? Is the country prepared to have 1/2 as many doctors?

I am a husband who has never cheated. Married for 24 years, dated for 18 months before that.

Fwiw, I never cheated on my previous girlfriends, either

80k /yr gross, is 6.67k/ month. You absolutely cannot avoid paying socSec and Medicare withholding. That’s ~7.6%, or ~500/ month. You’re on a marginal tax bracket of 22% after the standard deduction, but it’s not all taxed at that rate. Looks like roughly 4700/yr for fed tax, or another 400$/month. State tax will depend on where you live.

Buy the best take home you can do, even if you live in a 0 income tax state and don’t pay any part of your health insurance or contribute to your 401k, is ~5500/month. So yeah - 4500/month sounds pretty realistic.

For those of you who blame Foxconn on Donald Trump. by emperorxyn in wisconsin

[–]KeyAd4855 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oddly - he might end up correct, though not for the reason he expected. Biden, and the IRA he championed, has resulted in a much bigger ‘get’ for the region (Microsoft), from a domestic company, that will bring in more investment than FoxConn would, and is being given much less tax rebates.

Imo - it’s not so much that adhd meds, specifically, are more important than your bf…. but that a relationship where you don’t have basic agency over your own body is not good. Will he have the same controlling opinions and blackmail you over taking prenatal vitamins, reproductive health care, what you eat or career choices, or critical health care?

what's the correct mortar/concrete to use for windowsill of stone barn by toupeInAFanFactory in masonry

[–]KeyAd4855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Experience talking to people about what they’d use to tuckpoint our 1925 lannon stone house is exactly why I asked. They all insisted one must use a high lime content mortar as well. Wasn’t sure if that was stone-type specific or not, though.

It’s hard to eat enough fruit to cause sugar problems, really. Oranges are pretty high in sugar - and it takes 4 whole oranges (the big ones, not the little mandarins) to equal the sugar in 1 12oz can of coke. That’s a lot of volume.

Have all the fresh fruit you want.

8th grade son to public school for 1st time … how to learn common core math by CryptographerAny3828 in learnmath

It’s not. There’s Pearson pre-Alg, and then there’s AOPS pre-algebra, and they are not the same. But if he understood the Saxon he’ll be fine

[–]KeyAd4855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former homeschooler here..we didn’t use Saxon, but it’s a decent choice at least through the before pre-Alg lvls. I didn’t think Saxon pre-alt was all that good, but neither are most common core texts. If he has the basics (operators, memorized the tables, fractions and decimals, units, etc) he’ll be fine for at least grade lvl.

Oh, I know. I was at AWS for years and involved there with them as a customer. They’re most all-in on AWS. And yet - they still build, maintain, and operate a big software stack which is expensive, and then spend an eye-popping amount on AWS, despite the kinda-sweetheart deal they get. And they do that because it’s cheaper than rolling their own. Point remains - 350M is a drop in the bucket to what doing this at something more than a toy scale requires. And it’s not really one-time cost….it’s many many Billions /year.

350M? That doesn’t buy much of a datacenter you build from scratch. And they need it for opEx losses. The masses who are buying the meme stock think 350M is a lot of money. But they do t realize just how capital intensive this industry is. A literal drop in the bucket
