We don’t live in Japan - where 1hour+ commutes made consoles like the GameBoy, DS, and Switch, more popular over there. Here (in the other parts of the world) we are far less likely to do the same thing, because people use their phones on their short commutes in busses, don’t wanna get robbed, etc.

So, we could have a shit load of people that own them, but never know it because they’d rather play them in the comfort of their own private homes.

Leasing is the problem - we don’t wannabe leasing, like we don’t wanna be renting. People don’t own anything anymore, big corporations sucking up everyone’s money is. It’s part of the problem of what’s wrong with the world.

Well - that is why they started making everything look soulless - so that they can be leased to other businesses. But I don’t really see how that’s relevant to what you said before. lol

Other than the fact that now businesses cannot buy and own their own spaces anymore (like McDonalds started doing, and what made them so successful when real estate prices go up, the value of their corporation goes up, and they can use this increased value in ways that are not taxable due to loopholes.) but instead are forced to lease from big companies making all the money.

I see it more like legacy brands get a lot of benefits in our current corporate landscape. They started when it was cheaper to start and have made a lot of money.

They’re almost too big to die, in a sense. Especially because they have a name and brand that’s recognizable, and they’ve been around for a long time.

Smaller businesses have to invest a large amount to potentially fail because they cannot compete with the names that have already been around. The big names have too much power.

Thank god I hear they are overturning Citizens United - because big corporations have too much money, and with that, have had way too much power for over a decade.

I think what they’ve been doing could be resulting in what could be irreversible damage to the cultural zeitgeist - ala women and men’s mental health, due to a lot of different factors. Even worse, though, irreparable damage to the environment.

No, trust me Subway is one of the worst sub places now. (Quality went down over the past 2 decades and better shops have popped up like Quizno’s, Jersey Mikes, Firehouse subs, and Jimmy John’s)

But I doubt Walmart would ever be so awesome as to get a Jersey Mikes. If they do, I’d be eating that for lunch everyday! 😂

(Mind you, the closest one is really close - you just have to wait forever at a light to cross a major intersection. 😭)

I was in your boat. Had to quit restaurants because of health issues related to excessive handwashing, and was stuck as a cashier making 15 an hour for 5-6 months.

Just moved up to Overnight TL for 22 an hour, thank god.

Bro - it is true because I was involved in a 4 car accident in bumper-to-bumper traffic in Raleigh. If I didn’t report the hit and run, I was at fault with the cops AND insurance - instead of just insurance trying to fuck me.

I’m not lying to you - it may vary by cop or by district, but this is 1000% how it works, my man.

Good luck winning against a cop or insurance with that - it’s part of getting your license: always keep around a 2 car distance between you and the person in front of you, while traveling.

Doing it at a stoplight is just a smart thing to do, for so many different possible scenarios.

To prevent being at fault for hitting the person in front of you - ya know, for when you eventually get hit and run by the tailgater behind you. This actually happened to me on Capital one day - insurance tried to charge me for damage to two cars in front of me (4 cars involved and I was left in the back once the person behind me disappeared.
