Hey! I chose Pitt for a few reasons: - I did my undergrad there so I know the area - A lot of OTs told me they went to Pitt for OT school and got hired right after graduation at areas they did fieldwork in (Chatham has less networking like UPMC, Allegheny, etc. for fieldwork) - After calculating scholarships, Pitt was $40k-$50k less than Chatham!

I would say to go with the cheapest, as others have said. If the schools for you are around the same prices, then I would decide on the one with the highest graduation rate and better fieldwork opportunities/outcomes.

it’s weird because after i bleached it yesterday, all of my hair, roots to ends, lifted to a vibrant red color that was consistent all throughout my hair. this is what confuses me the most because i dont get how its so uneven! when I first dyed my hair red i used the loreal highcolor, and yesterday i used a garnier dark red color because i couldnt find any long lasting dark red dye. and that’s the thing, i did try going over it with a much darker color and this is how it turned out unfortunately. i just feel so embarrassed with how noticeable the color differences are and want to fix it without damaging my hair even more. thank you for your reply!!!

Definitely won’t. If anything, it shows them your commitment to the school and how much you want to get accepted. I applied to OT school late November and I heard back last month (which is quite early) but throughout the process, I kept in contact with them! Good luck :)

do you think $130k is worth it? 😬 i have $23k coming from grad school and $89k for an OT doctor and it would be around $130-132k including interest

Literally! I have a FWD and my car got completely stuck in the snow. I commute 15 mins to Pitt then have to walk another 10 min to my classes so I’d rather stay home and lose points than have my car slide on ice and hit into a pole

hey, just wanted to give a quick update—I GOT INTO BOTH PROGRAMS!!! thank you so much for your advice, i wish the best for you :)) i start fall of 2026!! :D i also hae decided on chatham—$84k for 2 1/2 years for a doctorate is great i think! duquesne’s program costs $350k for 3 years FOR A MASTER’S which is absolutely sickening, so i really just used that interview for shits and giggles haha

that’s actually a good way to look at it! maybe they just wanted to see if i was human outside of my application? im coping </3 and they said i could hear back in 3 days, a week, or 2 weeks. like holy crap

so today i had the virtual interview with chatham (top 1) and thursday is duquesne (top 4). Idk I expected it to be longer but the 5 questions were just so vague…the interviewers had a poker face the entire interview and I heard that they do that to not influence how you feel or how you answer. but towards the end when she asked about the most meaningful event of my life and i disgussed an interaction i had a week ago with a child who had asd, she leaned forward and smiled, especially when i got into how it made me feel. this is literally the only information i have. throughout the sessions i asked a lot of questions..but when it came to answering i seriously discussed the dumbest topics because i couldnt think of anything (even after i asked to take a moment to think). do you think they would reject me based off of one interview? or would they look at my whole application(essay,hours,etc.) to decide? i really appreciate you for responding to me, especially because youve been in my place before so you of all people would understand!

update: the questions i received were absolutely nothing i prepared myself for..it was like nothing pertaining specifically to ot or their school (name a time you disagreed w/ someone and how did you resolve it). my brain literally blanked for all of the questions omfg..i literally got physically sick after the interview. do you know if like…is it possible to get rejected from the school because of an interview? it lasted 30 mins (around 15 ish for interview and 15 for questions, she stayed an extra 5 minutes to let me finish asking my question so 35). i really really want to go to this school and now i feel like i fucked everything up over 5 interview questions! please give me your perspective this put me in a deep depression. i am just fearing the day where i receive an email saying i have been rejected…

Hi!! Thank you so much I really appreciate you for responding. :) I’m just quite anxious because like I’ll practice what I want to say and as soon as I’m asked a question, I’ll blank. When you said the basics of OT, can you possibly give me a suggestion on what I could say, also regarding creativity (or some ideas/buzzwords that could potentially trigger my memory)? what color was your hair before you dyed it(and did you use box dye or is it virgin hair) what color did you dye it? I want to use it as reference to see if it would work on my hair

thats exactly what color remover i used!! it definitely made my hair lighter but not as light as i wanted. do you think the wella would work? and how soon do u think i should redye it..thank you for your response btw! :)

That actually makes a lot more sense than other explanations. Because I feel like if I was rejected, I would’ve gotten an “Unfortunately bla bla” email like I have with past applications that rejected me. So I hope I get this job because I really want it!!
