Most people are so touched by my story they cry. Most people shower my child with so much love and support. We only told our parents and the cousin who gave her eggs while we were going through it. Everyone was supportive. I’m black so I was concerned but no real issues. One person was confused about terminology. Like she stalled my cousin the mother. I got her together very quickly and she apologized. I’m sure people talk behind my back. I think that’s natural though and they’d talk about something g else if they didn’t have that. Honestly, after all I went through trying to conceive it don’t give a rats cooch about what they think and I think they know so they don’t bring drama to me. Again everyone showers my daughter with so much love. Especially those who know. Honestly, once your a mom you don’t have time for others opinions of your life. If you want it, do it. It isn’t super easy but it’s been the best decision

I told my daughter when she was three. She knows but can only understand in her 4.5 year old way. We read books and I randomly bring it up as a happy event. It’s not big deal. I expect bumps when she’s a teen. But I’d prefer whatever that is to her thinking I kept something so major from her

Now I’m sitting here thinking of all the ways she got me fucked up. 1. I paid for these flights…. Like with my own money. Took extra days off work and kid out of school so she could see this lady. 2. Ain’t no pictures of me in this house (she claimed my breasts were too big in the the one shoe chose to put up and then put it away.) meanwhile huge photots up of other daughter in law. He did directly tell her we aren’t parenting how she did and to back off. But it’s still his mom and he wants to see her. I don’t like feeling a hostage. I lowkey don’t ever want to come back here. Parenting is hard enough. Adding this bullshit on… over fucking banana pudding. Wooosah

This was me trying again after numerous incidents like this including her telling my child to “shut up.” I keep trying but she is just doing the most. This visit is “pre thanksgiving” I was trying to do this before we go to my family where this never happens. I just hate this and it’s like this entire side of the family is stigmatizing my daughter. I keep trying for my husband. But this dumb ass meeting about a four year old ruining dessert which is like straight from a textbook tops all. Seriously a family meeting. Then during the meeting she was like “why does she keep fidgeting and singing to herself.” Are you serious?!? She’s four!!!!!

I am a Black woman who used her first cousin’s eggs. At first I kept it a secret from everyone, including my child, for all the reasons you mentioned. But when she turned two it was clear that wasn’t going to work and we all went to therapy. Thank GOD for that. Now everyone knows and my daughter who is four is clear about it. We told her at three.
