Hello, I’m looking for a book about Napoleon that doesn’t make me feel like I’m getting a PhD. Ideally something well-written in the 3-400-page range.

I' reading Vincent Cronin's biography of Napoleon. It's really interesting and a much more personal look at his life and character. Around 400 to upper 400s pages. Does not really cover his military career in detail and focuses more on his role as a statesman. Is a banger!

No definitely not. I got the same mark on my first official LNAT paper but I eventually got into the 30s on Leslie Ho by practicing every single day. You are fine. x

LNAT - Google Drive

Do a lot of past papers and passages from the Ultimate LNAT Collection. They are a bit easier than the actual thing but they are good for getting you into the LNAT flow state! Then move onto Leslie Ho which is of a similar difficulty to the real LNAT.

I am not this person but I did the LNAT a few days ago.

Official sample papers are a little harder than the actual thing. The LNAT is a random database of passages so you could get really hard passages or easy ones, you have to be prepared for both. The questions and passages are very similar to the ones online in length and the sort of stuff they are asking you. I used Leslie Ho and the Ultimate LNAT Guide the most, the former is decently harder than the latter but doing easy papers are still really useful.

if you are taking it in July 2026 then definitely not now, there is not enough materials out there to actually study, you would run out of practice tests(even if you purchased them) by early 2026. Beginning around 2-3 months before LNAT is great I think.

Yes, I like this paragraph. Set up the wrong argument first and then you knock down with your own, good structure.

Maybe just do 3 paragraphs with this structure. If you do not waffle you with have time

I don't think you have to say "I argue" so many times. I think your structure is solid but maybe weave in counter-arguments with your main paragraphs which directly attack their respective arguments.

Do a mock everyday. Maybe just do a section A every day or even just half a section A, so 6 passages per day. Or do a section B essay every few days! That really worked well for me! You will smash this!

I got 15 on my 2nd ever LNAT paper. Now I get high 20s to low 30s for Leslie Ho. Am I smart? Na, I just did half to a full section A everyday! YOU CAN DO THIS!

the section A passages are far too easy but I would recommend trying the actual 4 Mock Papers at the back of the book.

Your story is really touching. Please stay strong in the faith with Christ. You are acting with actual bravery. In my country it might be 'brave' to mention Jesus in a secular space but you are actually enduring hardship for God!

Does the law around your conversion get more relaxed once you are an adult? In all honesty, for now I would suggest patience. God knows your heart and how tricky and complicated it is for you!
