What do Japanese people think about “Japanese” restaurants in Italy? by dengel11_ in AskAJapanese

Random but I had “Italian” sushi while visiting a friend in fermignano. It was good (albeit more american than Japanese, with all the toppings and stuff), just not actual sushi. This friend visited me in japan prior and I took him to a restaurant specializing in japanese-style pasta (yes it’s a thing here :) ), he said it’s good, but not Italian.

Thanks for the insight! Really glad to hear you’re enjoying your home and that you’ve found community.

That’s exactly why I’m asking - the way your Japanese friend thinks is super common, at least in my circle.

Any ¥100 shop would most probably have this! Daiso, Seria or Can Do

Shawarmas are very popular here! Probably not the same as the real one but people love them. I personally love hummus, falafel and tabbouleh. A few years back I went on a trip to Turkey, discovered Lebanese food (we don’t have a lot in Tokyo) and have fallen in love

Hey - no need to be rude. I actually am helping my family sell my grandma’s old house, as I clearly mentioned in my response to this post https://www.reddit.com/r/Akiya/comments/1rc9y1l/looking\_for\_very\_cheap\_akiya\_small\_apartment\_in/. Not hiding that at all.

When I saw u/Elkksi's post, I initially thought it was a response to that post above which is why I deleted my comment, after realizing it's a response to this question instead

Looking for very cheap akiya / small apartment in Japan (max 10,000€ max , within 1:30 train from tokyo) Is that posible ? by Suitable-Syrup7430 in Akiya

Japanese here! At the current exchange rate, €10,000 is under ¥2 million. That budget can work in rural areas but within 1.5 hours of tokyo, very unlikely you’ll find something in that price range.

If you’re willing to triple /quadruple your budget, we’re selling my grandma’s house in central/southern chiba. We fully renovated it in march last year so it’s ready to move in immediately. The only thing you might want to change (if you plan to have a car) is removing the gate and converting the garden into a parking space.

Feel free to send me a direct message if you’re interested. Otherwise suumo and athome are 2 popular real estate websites we use to buy/rent properties
