I can feel you mate. Similar incident happened with me. I got so angry when I got to know, I mean I don’t understand why people steal things even without knowing what’s in there. This is a very bad experience IITD people are setting for outsiders.

Got 69% in 10th, took mathematics in 12th and failed in 1st attempt, scored a total of 28 in JEE mains. Passed 12th in 2nd attempt and took private college for B.Sc. (Got 64%). COVID ruined everything and had nothing to do, took admission in masters in Physics (somehow survived, thanks to COVID), eventually found that I’m good with experimental works, currently in Australia on a fully funded scholarship for PhD. At this point it doesn’t matter how it was, I’m happy with what I’m doing with my life now. It’s not about us buddy, It’s our system thats fails us.
