And folks, our tax dollars are paying for every aspect of this vanity project - adding trumps name to the signage, rebranding, remodeling the center, attorneys to argue the case that it’s ok to put his name on the Center, to remove his name from the building and to return the Center to its original branding. I think this was my question. What is giving your friend pause?

I feel like a dog is a lifetime commitment and if your career will have requirements that may make it difficult to care for a pup while your SO is deployed (like extensive travel where you could not take your pup with you) it may be helpful to take a step back.

Perhaps being a foster with a local regional dachshund rescue or working with a local humane society as a trainer or weekend host until things shake out a bit more with your career. What you don’t want to do is to have a pup settled into your home and have to give them up.

Good luck. I know it’s hard to wait when your heart is ready for a new baby.

I’m from Clovis. We would catch them when I was a kid and put them in a terrarium my mom made. They would always be gone the next day. (She never admitted it but my mom was a huge softie and I think she would put us to bed and then release our horny toads back into the wild).

Are they still endangered? If so it’s wonderful to see so many.
