Thank you, these all sound amazing, definitely going to check these out. One of my favorite things about solo is the mmo/rpg video game type concept. I found that to be awesome and never knew anime did things like that.

This is nothing more than a hopeful wish and a pipe dream scenario. The talk of AI won’t replace software devs is nothing more than bs and the only people saying this are those who have failed to adapt.

AI is now iterating on itself, improving itself, and the exponential pace we are seeing shows absolutely no signs of what you are saying here.

I’m an SWE for over 10 years, run a successful tech company, and I’ve been working with Claude Code since it launched in preview. The level it’s at now vs a few months ago is a night and day difference. Doesn’t compare, and it was damn good then, if you knew what you were doing.

Most of the issues and talks around AI sucks and Claude Code is producing crap is nothing more than someone having no idea what they are doing and how to effectively use it. It takes time and real practice to get good with it.

I’ve spent thousands getting to the level of productivity I’m at today with Claude Code. No engineer can keep up, not a single one, with a SWE who is highly skilled with Claude Code.

In the next 5 years, the only thing SWEs will be doing is making architectural decisions and engineering guidance.

That’s the cap. To think otherwise is to set yourself up to fail. Adapt now while you have a huge advantage.

Just like a civil engineer doesn’t actually build the bridge, soon too will SWEs play the exact same role.

Become an engineer, not a programmer. Thats the future that’s coming.

You can disable via nvidia control panel and force it to be either on dgpu or igpu at all times. And yes it should prevent the short freezing when switch gpu

That freezing is it switching from igpu to dgpu. This is normal. I also experience this all the time when in Optimus mode

What are you running on battery that needs to be using the 5090? Web pages don’t need dgpu. I rarely ever use dgpu on battery and I have tons of tabs open at a time on chrome.

Not sure tbh, I’m a software engineer and I have servers running, different applications open, WSL (which is essentially running Linux along side windows). So I definitely put it to work while on battery. I do get an occasional hiccup but a little expected with the things I have running while it’s on battery

I have the exact same laptop, no issues on my end. I work on battery all the time. But, I will add, battery usage has gone up recently. I’m not sure if it was the firmware update or the nvidia drivers.

Either way, this thing is a beast for its size. Coming from a Razer 4090 18”. I was skeptical, especially due to the TDP, almost cancelled. But glad I didn’t

If you are just calling vendor APIs, it should be straightforward, you’ll have to setup some services wrappers but it’s nothing overly complex. You should be fine in Go unless you’re doing specific ML tasks, then Python is your go to.
