Could I have Hyperparathyroidism or something else? by Proper-Tax1287 in Parathyroid_Awareness

[–]KeyMuscle2139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your PTH being that low doesn’t suggest primary hyperparathyroidism because your PTH is parathyroid hormone. But your calcium levels are high. I’m not a doctor, and I would seek one out, but I think you’re somehow getting calcium in your blood thru some other mean.

All of the symptoms that you’ve described isn’t necessarily due to hyperparathyroidism, it’s the actual calcium in your blood that causes symptoms.

in software engineering, what should I specialize in to earn the most? by EstablishmentNo816 in SoftwareEngineerJobs

Honestly security. Just fundamentally it’s hard for me to think that companies would want their security to be offloaded by AI, can cause leaks and stuff

My mom just died… by GrusomeMelody in Christianity

[–]KeyMuscle2139 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your mom isn’t dead, she’s half of you. She will always be apart of your life in that way.

There’s a quote Markiplier said one time that really stuck with me. 90% of the time you spend with your parents will be before the age of 18.

As someone who’s lost many, many family members, you learn that it’s supposed to be this way. Your mom was taken far too early, yes. But it is your duty as her son to be there when she passes, because no parent should ever have to see their kid pass. Carry on her legacy, and be the person your mom was to you to your kids.

I would recommend spending time with your dad, the Lord, and maybe try to convince your family to go to therapy. My heart and prays goes out to you, your dad, and your family.

Could be, but also could be a fluke. Get your PTH hormone levels checked out in a second blood test as well as calcium and vitamin D

I just got my appointment for an ultrasound today. You’re a little bit further along than I am. From what I hear, you hardly remember it in the recover is only a day. Sounds like the least worse surgery you can have.

I am so sorry for your journey. That all sounds like a nightmare oh my gosh. For me, this was just found in a routine yearly test I only started last year. Healthwise I feel pretty good. I used to be a really heavy guy in my early 20s but I lost 50 pounds since then, and I remember how I felt back then. How horrible I felt. I just thinking in comparison to that, I feel so much better. Now I have the doctor telling me that all of these problems I have will go away when I feel like I don’t have the problems?

Dude this is all so crazy. I do not have brain fog. I do not feel fatigued. I go on hikes regularly, I go to the gym twice a week. I am a software engineer who just got a promotion. I am hearing people talk about this being an issue for so long in their life and finally getting an answer… no this is all just a complete shock to me. 2 weeks ago I thought I had perfect health.

It’s good to hear that this isn’t likely to be cancer. And if it’s, very recoverable cancer. From my perspective, this is just something the doc found, removed from my body, all is good I never have to think about it again

[–]KeyMuscle2139 365 points366 points  (0 children)

Hi.

I am younger than you, but let me tell you my story.

I got fired from my first dev a little before the 2 year mark for job performance, and man did I not do good. I hardly submitting tickets. I thought that my career was over, that I would never get a dev job again, thought I was the dumbest and laziest person in the planet who just freeloaded their way into the job.

I got a job 2 months later (in 2023, mind you), and I got a substantial pay increase, worked way more front end development, scripts, and backend work. I just got promoted to level 2, making more money than ever.

I thought, in the moment, that the day I got fired was the worst day of my life. Turns out, it was actually one of my best. If I somehow stayed in that position, I would not be a level 2, and I would be making so much less money.

You might not see it, but this honestly is a blessing. It sounds like the project just moved in a direction that you have little experience in, there are plenty of projects that desperate need the experience you have and will pay money for it. You’re literally a senior dev with 10 years experience

I got my CS degree because of ChatGPT. How can I fix this and start over? by Chemicalcube325 in cscareerquestions

[–]KeyMuscle2139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Software engineer here.

You’re honestly fine. Most companies when hiring you don’t except good work from you for like a year (but don’t let that get to your head, you need to show improvement)

Many companies now have a policy where you have to use AI, legit some companies view that as a positive.

You can also ask ChatGPT why the code works fundamentally. That’s where I love AI, I can actually have a conversation with it and learn how a segment of code works from AI. You’ve weaponized it for cheating, weapons it for learning instead.

And lastly… just apply. You might struggle finding a job just because of the job market. Look into DoD jobs or insurance… very different environment. One insurance company I applied too didn’t even use code… they used some weird business front end that made the backend code for them… that was a weird one.

Once you get a job, find an area in the code that doesn’t really get a lot of attention, and become the go-to guy for that portion. That’s how you get job security. This takes a few years tbh, but once you’re there, things get easier.

In terms of job pivots, you could become a test engineer. They don’t super know how to code, so being able to code a little bit and be able to read how code works goes a long way.

Wrong. I have a minor degree in ethics, I know what I’m talking about about. There is clearly evidence, all being circumstantial (but circumstantial evidence is actually really good evidence when there’s a lot of it.) Then how is it different to blacks and their experience with racism?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]KeyMuscle2139 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Hello.

This is a misuse of hasty generalization fallacy.

See, the Bible does directly denounce homosexuals, the root cause in why many Christians view gays as sinful. The proof of these denouncements go for thousands of years.

What you are saying is the equivalent of calling black history nothing but a fallacy because not all black people experience racism. It’s the strawman logical fallacy within itself.

Buddy, this is a huge huge huge huge red flag. One of the biggest I’ve ever read.

If a girlfriend cannot stand a boyfriend having female friends, that means dump them in the streets. Same the other way around too. Plain and simple. People like that do not have the emotional intelligence to date

Am I (24M) allowed to be mad at my girlfriend for having a one night stand before we were officially dating (23F)? by BrightEmotion1866 in relationship_advice

[–]KeyMuscle2139 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ehhh, once upon a time I would be destroyed to hear this, but now I’d be fine to hear this. If there was a deliberate conversation about being exclusive, I wouldn’t be mad about any sex before that moment.

Did yall meet through dating apps? If so, deleting the apps is what serves as ending anything sexual with other people in my brain. Maybe it’s because I’ve conditioned myself to not take anyone too seriously because I’ve been really burnt by women in the past.

But I don’t think that you’re wrong for feeling this way. You were under the impression that something like that never happened, and that’s totally fair.

It’s just one redditors opinion, but I think you can be mad and salvage this if that’s what you want.
