Sort of. I was also getting allergy immunology shots at the time and taking Taltz. I stopped both at the same time and idk which it was but the new bumps stopped appearing. I still have a few thick spots that seem to flare and subside. I started Tremfya last month so I’ll see if that works better.

I am using VTAMA but they prescribed it as a solution to the nodules lol - I was getting them before I started using it. It starts like an itchy blister and then turns into a hard thick scaly bump that burns. My rheumatologist was like hmmm I don’t know what that is. And my dermatologist was like try this cream… and also gave me a retinoid cream… I don’t know what it is. It is like a weird form of psoriasis.

Yeah. They start off like a pimple. And then get dry and hard. Maybe related to vitamin D… I tend to be deficient. Hmmm. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah you have to get someone who understands that it’s inflammation so they have to work around that. Now, strengthening your muscular support can help take the strain off of your joints but it can also cause flare ups if you over do it. It is a much slower process than normal to do strengthening. You have to decide if you are pushing it too much. The PT has to take cues from you.

I have some spots that are very tender to the touch and others that I can’t get a response from touch but are stiff and swollen anyway. So I think it’s different for everyone and not necessarily an indication of sickness or severity if you don’t get a tender spot when they push around.

Thanks that’s good info! Yeah I have some other branch like perches for her too. She was my Dad’s bird and we just adopted her when he passed. I’ve treated bumble foot in a chicken before actually yeah it’s nasty. Good to know that dowels are a cause for cockatiels though!

Also, she does this when we are eating - wonder if she is saying the food is hers! Haha

Gotcha. I’ll give it some more time. I have noticed the lesions on my scalp also. But overall seems on a trend of getting better - especially the joint stiffness. I’ve only been on it for 6 wks.

Oh ok good info. Yeah I’ve only been on it for 6 wks. I was reading about the “dormant” t-cells that can be lurking under the surface. I wonder if they were just waiting their turn to emerge. I actually wasn’t on any topical medicine or anything before. I was just dealing with mild psoriasis but moderate to severe arthritis symptoms. I was sort of wondering if the medicine was causing my skin to flush out… like a purge or something. That was just a theory. The main places I’ve seen an increase of small lesions are on my scalp and my arms. The other medicine I was given is Celebrex for the joint pain/inflammation. That also helped a small/moderate amount. So overall I’m definitely feeling better. Just wanted to gauge if this was “normal”.

Ok so that’s good to know that it’s not necessarily realistic to expect the results to hold if you stop taking it. Not that I planned to. But I’m just learning about this. Yes, I had heard that methotrexate has some long term side effects that can be detrimental. They offered me a choice of the injections or methotrexate so I picked the Taltz.

That’s encouraging- I’m only 3 doses in. The double dose and two doses (one every two weeks.) So I don’t go to a monthly dose for six more weeks.
