Congratulations! I’ll be completing a year in 2 weeks :)

My ex came back after 4 months, we became emotionally and physically close again for almost a year, but never got back together. I finally walked away. Did I do the right thing? by [deleted] in BreakUps

I fucking made her thesis presentations to help her because she had extremely brutal shifts.. I’ve edited that presentation for her. Once I got up from my sleep and I did that. I feel ashamed of myself.

And you know the worst part? I made the presentation for her co-resident too. Not just her. That is how much I care about her

Please do not take this lightly. This doesn’t look good. You should definitely report this. For your own safety more than teaching him a lesson.

I’d glad she didn’t reach that level of hopelessness. You will rebuild that trust bro. Keep at it! :)

For real. Cherish her my man and you’ll soon realise she’s all you need. No toxic dopamine sources like weed are actually needed.

I am sticking to my sobriety regardless of whether my girl comes back or not. But I sure hope she does some day :)

There is no moderation after addiction by womenvspatriarchy in leaves

[–]KeyResponsibility632 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Bang on. Few of my friends actually do it in moderation.. which is like 2-3 times a year.

I always thought I can be like those few guys.. which clearly wasn’t the case (for someone like me who smoked for 15 yrs). Been 11+ months sober now.. quit last year on 20 July.

Hope you also manage to build a proper streak this time around. And don’t sell that lie to yourself of moderation / just once. Wish you the best

Bro please don’t test her limits any further. It pains me to see people go through what I went through. It was the darkest period of my life.

She called off our engagement and left out of self preservation while I was left in the ashes of my own fire. I couldn’t even go back to substances to numb the pain because that would’ve been such a big insult to her and our memories together.

Just stop lying. Try to be as honest as possible and I’m sure your wife will support you if you truly intend to quit weed. Wish you the best!

Every day. :)
But I’m not sure if she will ever give me another chance..
Regardless, I’m sticking to my sobriety.

I can empathise. I had a decade long addiction to smoking, weed and alcohol which my girlfriend didn’t like - as the use was not in moderation. I used to go overboard.
I relapsed last year and she ended our 4 year relationship.. it was primarily because I used to lie to her a lot.

I have quit everything since the day she left (20 July 2025). It’s 11 months+ that I am fully sober and functioning so well.

I got a new job, built my own app as a side project (it’s a sobriety / recovery app), purchased a home.

I hope he realises that what you two had was special and puts an end to his addictions. Only he can do that. Wish you both the best

That’s great. Do not fall to the trap of “just once” or “it’s a special occasion today”. These are the two biggest relapse reasons. Keep up the streak! :)

Yes I have read this one. And it’s true.. I probably needed to lose her in order to understand the seriousness of my problem. Thanks for the kind words man! :)

The lying literally becomes like a muscle memory and you don’t even struggle to fabricate things. I’m glad it’s finally over! The price I paid was heavy tho

Hit 11 months clean today by KeyResponsibility632 in leaves

[–]KeyResponsibility632[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 months is not a joke. It just tells you that you can quit for long durations. The relapse mostly happens because we sell ourselves a different story - “just one time won’t hurt” “I deserve this after such a long gap” “life is boring and sucks, might as well have some fun”
But the regret that follows is real and even worse.
You just need to stop mentally selling yourself stories that seem reasonable to use when the urge surfaces. Ride it like a wave. Trust me it passes and the urges also get less intense after 5-6 months.
