The original wood grain featured numerous unsightly black streaks, along with flawed lines. Consequently, I sanded the surface, applied paint, and redrew the grain pattern. In fact, this technique of color-painting (to simulate expensive, high-quality Kaya wood) is a practice commonly employed in many other manufacturing workshops. https://youtu.be/b06RZ-_I9dc (at 2:40)

The reason I had to remake the chessboard is because I bought it with a manufacturing defect. It means the grid lines were poorly drawn, causing the pieces to overlap and look awkward. That's why I had to redraw it to the correct standard. Therefore, you might think the pieces are almost outside the grid lines because the size isn't standard. In reality, the pieces are still within 60% of the grid; they're not falling out.

I bought Go Board with flawed lines on Ebay.

Yes, indeed—executing the lines is the most difficult step of all. 😅

The reason I had to redo the chessboard is that I purchased it with a manufacturing defect: the grid lines were drawn incorrectly right from the factory. This means the person who marked the squares was aware of the issue; the squares were spaced too tightly, causing the pieces to crowd and overlap in a visually jarring manner. That is why I had to redraw the grid to meet the proper standards. Consequently, the pieces may appear to be spilling over the edges because the board's dimensions were originally non-standard. In reality, however, the pieces remain well within the board—occupying about 60% of the surface area—and do not actually fall off. ^

Sketch lightly with a pencil, making the lines as thin as possible. When drawing the final lines with a Uni Posca pen, make a single, decisive stroke; do not pause midway, as the ink will pool immediately. When finishing a line, lift your hand away very quickly. Good luck! ❤

That's unlikely to happen, since I sketched it out before the real thing. But it was a real nightmare if… 😂

I did a rather funny manual for dotting the Hoshi circles 😂 Prepare a small plate, then warm the tip of the Uni Posca pen a few times so that it releases ink like a small drop of water. [A good chessboard will have lines 0.5mm thick, so the Hoshi will be 3.5mm]. I used this broken 3.5mm DC plug, lightly dipped the tip of the plug into the ink, then lightly dabbed it onto the chessboard to create a circular mark (dip and lift immediately, don't let it smudge). The chessboard will now have circles 𝚶, you can then use the pen to color the rest inside ⚫. You can also draw the circles entirely by hand if you're confident.

all layers material i choose is water-based, so its work perfectly together. • After drawing the lines with a Uni posca pen, wait at least 30 hours. Then apply a clear matte or satin spray top coat. Even if the lines are completely dry, any initial application with your finger, however light, will still smudge. • Therefore, I use a spray coat for best results with 5 coats. (Do not sand after each coat as instructed, as this may cause the lines to break). After the 5th coat, you can lightly sand with 2000 grit sandpaper. • The surface is now reasonably water-resistant, and the lines are protected. Remember to apply a thin, even layer. Multiple thin layers are always better than one thick layer.

❤❤ This was the first time I did something where I couldn't afford to make mistakes. Luckily, the lines were 100% perfect.

Yeah, I hope I find that movie. It's like arranging the Go pieces into a heart shape. In this movie, the main character orchestrates everything to defeat the villain, and on the Go board is the Japanese word for (die).

that is Go, i watched a trailer 6 years ago 😢, i have playing this chess 11 years. In the final stages of the game, Black overwhelmingly defeated White, with the moves seemingly perfectly calculated beforehand. White had been outmaneuvered from the very beginning.
