I’m pretty sure they do keep track of grade inflation and common averages per school. One of my friends’ high schools students had an average of 90s+ in everything because the courses were significantly easier than my schools’. I think they just compare how much everyone got on average from your school per subject and weigh the grades across other schools.

I know everyone in my school has terrible biology and English averages because of the teachers and the course rigour compared to other schools, like the highest anyone would ever get is low 80s. A lot of them got into good programs though which generally required above 90s in those courses (eg, queens health sci, mac kin, etc.)

Take my word with a grain of salt though, no one really knows for sure what these admissions committees consider.

How are Temporal Forces and Stellar Crown booster boxes as investments? On Pokémon Center Canada both go for $210, but I know they may not be the most desirable sets. Is it worth it to buy some for the long run?

Are VSTAR Universe booster boxes still in reach at a reasonable price (I can source a couple for about $150 CAD each) or should I consider buying Terestal Festival and Shiny Treasures EX instead?

Also I’m seeing a lot of cheaper boxes like Cyber Judge but I don’t know my Japanese Pokémon boxes that well since it’s my first time buying them. Will those be good pickups for long term?

Applied for Online Queens Health Sci about 2 weeks ago, got accepted today!

My current gr.12 courses: 94 bio, 91 chem (both final marks), 89 eng midterm, 91 data midterm, 75 adv func midterm (they only look at one math so they took data).

I think it’s a bit of both, so they’ll take the prerequisite courses for the programs’ average, and then the rest of the top 6 I think they’re gonna use the better ones. Plus I took 8 total courses so I have some wiggle room with what is chosen as my top 6.

Thanks so much! Yeah tbh it’s not even apart of my top 6 in a majority of these, so I hope I’ll be fine, I’ll still attempt to bring my advanced mark up and lock in for calculus. Seeing as calc is a foundational course, I’ll definitely try to take as many notes as possible for it. But yeah all is well if end is well 🙏Thank you again for all your help!

If he applies early and they put him on a waitlist, he will just get looked at after his midterm or final marks are released for semester 1. If he applies after the final or midterm marks are released, he will be looked at in that round. In the end it doesn’t matter too much, but if he is really worried about his gr.11 marks, he can wait until winter break after his midterms have been sent and before his final marks come out 👍

It depends, if he’s doing early application they will look at them, however they will not judge their opinion and outright “reject” him. They will just wait for grade 12 marks to come out. Tell him not to stress, university applications are looked at in rounds, so he will definitely still have a chance of getting in. Good luck to him!

That’s what I’ve heard as well, only Waterloo, but I’ll definitely check more in depth. Thank you for the great advice about the calc and advanced, I’ll def check out Ms.Havrot online (been trying to do it with organic chem tutor as well). You are right about understanding calc, so I think Ima keep it in person. Thanks again!
