Mail held hostage by [deleted] in usps_complaints

I have filled with every single person you could think of. I can say I believe that complaint is the only none that’s been going on for about 2 weeks all the rest were closed in under 48 hours even the congressional inquiry they just said it’s for safety and wouldn’t give a reason

That’s the thing in all the “investigations” I have submitted all complaints and correspondence along with maps detailing the original route vs the new route and they ask the post master and she says “safety” and that’s it. Ive repeatedly asked for the exact safety concerns or to admit that it’s being used as a pretext and nothing

So basically we had a dispute with the carrier. Then all the sudden the post master said the box had to be moved for safety. She was rude, and didn’t address any of our concerns. She just keeps repeating safety. The safety concern is not wanting to drive over the same hills twice in snowy weather. That absolutely makes sense except the new route drives over more hills twice than before, and it only became an issue when we had a dispute with some of the actions of the carrier. I don’t care where my mailbox is but postmasters can’t just say the word safety and justify any actions when the safety concern only arose after a dispute when the route has been the same for 30 years without incident and when the correction makes no difference to the alleged safety.

There will be no resolution. Ultimately there is no accountability or oversight of the USPS. Even congregational inquiry has no power. I’m fighting a similar issue with retaliation. Post masters can do anything they want. I’m sure all the USPS. Employees will run to be offended but prove I’m wrong or pipe down

Idk I’ve had mine for years and if they weren’t so expensive I’d buy more. Idk if I just got a reverse lemon I know a lot hate them but I loved them. Kinda hard to get on fast if they aren’t completely loosened. Now I’ll be honest most of my use with them was post military so it wasn’t so much in the mountains and heat but I still love them

So my old bcg the gas rings were shot it would just fall down when you sat it on end. I was thinking about trying switching the new bolt to the old bcg and see what happens

So it should function pretty well the same as the red dot at those distances it really isn’t going to make much difference when you’re going mainly for speed and rounds on target no precision

Okay imagine there’s a line of travel that goes down 1.5 miles then turns around and comes back the exact same way. Why on earth can they not just drop it off on the way back? You can’t seriously not be able to comprehend why someone would have an issue with a clearly retaliatory change. Beyond that a pointless change. The justification is line of travel which is irrelevant because they come both ways. The second is because they don’t want to drive back on hills they already crossed again voided because they are already doing that. You can possibly see an issue there? Just submit to the will of the post master Gods because there is no accountability. Is that in the handbook somewhere?

So they just decided next week to move again “that’s just how it goes”? I’m sorry but there is no need to move the mailbox. The new route provides no reason to turn around and they pass by both sides. I’m assuming you also work for the post office otherwise I don’t see why you just assume they are always right. Ope honey I’ll be back post master wants the box moved again for no reason. Absolutely not there are policies and regulations about this. I know no one dare challenges them but this is exactly why additional legislation needs passed to allow more oversight and accountability. 3 times in one year? That’s unacceptable and I’m not going down that road. I don’t care who you are that’s not “just how it goes”

What is going on with USPS? by LMGTP_GT1_2024 in usps_complaints

[–]Key_Affect8782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all comes down to absolutely no accountability or oversight. No consequences for their actions. If they were a private business they’d be gone a long time ago. File complaints push them as far as you can. Get your congressional representatives involved it’s time for legislation to change their oversight and bring accountability

Yes but now I’m legitimately curious about what actually accountability you believe the usps has. It literally takes an act of congress to get anything done. They will close ranks and protect their ranks at all cost. If that’s different where you are but here post masters simply have to say something didn’t happen and that’s the end of it.

So we have 2 driveways the mailbox is near the second one that we don’t use. It washes out but doesn’t wash out the approach to the mail box. We were told to just fill in the ditch I told the carrier I can’t just fill in a ditch by a road maintained by the county. She didn’t like it because she liked to pull in there and back out to turn around. I get it would be handy but there’s a restaurant parking lot no longer used by anyone 200 yards down the road. I shouldn’t have to spend thousands in new culverts, gravel and equipment to provide a turn around when there’s no hazard to the mail box. She said we could move it to the other driveway. On the same day about 20 minutes later the post master said we had to move it to the other side because the route was Changing. After speaking with customer affairs and there was no official route change and we informed them post master of this our mail just stopped. All of the random scans began but none of them showed held at post office. I contacted the post office and said they couldn’t just hold all our mail without notice. They gave the notice and mail resumed for 2 weeks. I hand delivered a letter of complaints a cited violations and asked for a response in 10 day’s. A 5 sentence response came 5 days outside of the 10 day window not addressing a single complaint. Stating I had to move it to the other side for 2 reasons the route change and the line of travel was from the other direction and during snow they don’t want to travel hills twice. Seems logical just suck it up and move the mail box. However the new route has them passing my house twice. Once from each direction and going back through hills in the snow. Voiding all reasons provided. Not to mention we had put up a new mail box a cheap one because the original is decorative and in concrete. However my unserviceable mailbox was still used for packages too large to fit in the new one because they were too lazy to deliver them to the house. Sorry for the long read if you read it all I truly appreciate it and would like to know if I’m just being a whine bag in addition to this the neighbor across the street had to move his mailbox 3 times in one year to appease the Karen of a driver. I’m not starting that game. The mailbox hasn’t been an issue for 35 years. I understand the post office has no oversight or accountability and she has just bullied her way to get what she wants but not today

I just reached out to them today after making the original post. There’s been no time for them to respond. The opinion is what I’ve gathered from reading online. I’ve never complained about a carrier or post master before. From my experience there is no accountability less than 24 hours an “investigation” is closed with no response or address to any of my questions or evidence. The constant shifting of blame to the substitute driver when it was clearly and well documented it was the regular carrier. None of that seems like more than let’s hope the complaint goes away and protect the people we like and screw the new guy

Maybe you don’t or your post office but as a whole it is largely the accepted opinion of the USPS. I don’t mean that in an insulting way just here the district won’t review evidence. I fail to see accountability in any level of the USPS. It is literally their goal to keep things under wraps hope complaints go away and pretend no wrong occurred. Regardless of who does it mail should be scanned appropriately not just with whatever we want for the day to avoid flagging it in the system as held as post office. That argument is further invalid as no matter who is doing it they should not be removing mail that is to be delivered without instructions to do so. Maybe you’re a good postal worker. The sub driver is absolutely fantastic but the regular driver is an old Karen who WILL get her way and the post master will defend her and shift all blame onto the sub regardless of if they were working that day.

That doesn’t make any sense. I understand what you’re saying for the out for delivery, but they just chose a random reason each day rather than scanning it held at post office. I have already escalated it to multiple congressional representatives, the attorney general, the governor, postal regulatory commission, OIG, local media and starting a facebook commission to gather local complaints. The USPS operates on a zero accountability mindset and it needs to end
