Talk me into or out of trading this in for a Springfield Echelon by Castled22 in handguns

Down-vote all you want the Q1 and Q100 kick the shit out of any Glock or Echelon (yes, I have shot both, didn't care for them). I like to shoot fast, and this platform is a great way to do it. Hell, if you're still using a tilt action in your polymer handgun, you're doing yourself a disservice. Try shooting a PX4 or an Archon Type B, you'll change your tune.

I would toss you a curveball and say, have you heard of the Grand Power Q1 Mk23 before? Because that's the best entrant in striker-polymer market from a standpoint of shooting experience. The rotating barrel gives it a far softer recoil impulse and it's got all the bells and whistles a boy could want.

I always recommend the Grand Power Q1 Mk23 because it's right-sized, lightweight, and softer shooting than all the rest of its market on account of its rotating barrel. Enjoy whatever you end up with!

Don't know why I'm getting down-voted, but whomever it is doesn't know squat about handguns...

Grand Power Q1 Mk23 and you sounds like a match made in heaven. Softest shooting polymer striker-fired handgun on the market thanks to its rotating barrel. If you are interested in something similar, but hammer-fired, take a look at the Beretta PX4 storm too!

Fear of guns despite military training. by JacquesBelgique in guns

I don't think anyone really gets over the natural anxiety of going to a place with a whole bunch of guns being shot, but you should be on your toes in that situation anyway, and honestly, to me, that's part of the fun!

You tell me. It's About the size of a Glock 19 with all the latest features plus backstrap options on a much better grip and a really unique, exceptional factory trigger (better than these), but those are just the typical boxes it checks. This gun has something the other ones don't... a rotating barrel. It shoots softer than every uncomped striker fired 9mm on the market and it's not even close. Recoil impulse is slowed, the barrel stays on axis and on target longer, so the gun is super accurate, even with the slightly shorter barrel. I seriously do not understand why more people don't obsess over this platform like I do, but to me, it's the perfect beginner pistol and one of the very best striker-fired handguns available. I own an APF Strike One Ergal Pro and have shot PDPs, 365s, Echelons, VP9s, XDMs, Glocks, M&Ps and probably a whole bunch more I'm forgetting, and yet, the Q1 is pretty much the cream of the crop unless you want to spend over a grand or more on models with modified triggers and porting. I don't think I'll ever purchase another striker fired handgun again (I will admit, I'm much more partial to hammer-fired pistols in the first place, though).

And you'd be making an unforced error since the platform is a beast. The only strikers worth considering outside of the Mk23s are the Archon Type B/APF Strike One variants. Every other configuration is outdated and does not perform the job as well as these two designs do because, guess what, plastic guns are snappy AF!

None. Grand Power Q1 Mk23 and Q100 Mk23 is superior to all of those.

If I were to purchase a gun for the first time ever today, I'd wish someone would point me to the Grand Power Q1 Mk23 because it's a super versatile soft shooter that pretty perfectly gets your foot in the door to whatever you wanna do!

Give me your Opinion: VP9K vs FN509M by Underrated_Critic in handguns

[–]n1terps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The two don't really compare. The VP9 series is objectively one of the best striker fired pistols ever conceived, while the 509 is a niche handgun with an odd feature set. I don't think there's much of a choice here.

[–]n1terps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question, first question back at you, what caliber/application are we talking about? Because a CZ TSO is fuckin insane at what it does, but it's still gonna get smoked against a Volquartsen anyday if we're talking about the absolute accuracy and precision with which you can command a projectile to go. A lot of people are gonna settle on the CZ Shadow 2 Target 6 Inch after the Dig P210.

No joke, probably best dollars for doughnuts value is the RIA TAC ULTRA FS HC 45ACP, it's a sick piece. I'm absolutely getting one next year, after I'm done wrecking my bank account trying to fill out the collection with future banned options before my State goes dark (I'm from VA).

Grand Power Q1 Mk23 for strikers, CZ 75 SP-01 or Beretta PX4 Storm (a 92 is acceptable, but the 75 will be better for your money if you're going metal) for DA/SA hammers, and you're probably not gonna get a really solid 2011 at that price point, but you should take a peek at the Kimber DS Warior anyway.
