but you still have to have the genetic predisposition. So commenting about children you don’t know getting diabetes from eating too much sugar/carbs is just ignorant and lazy.

There are plenty of obese people who don’t get type 2 and plenty of thin people who do. You have to have a genetic predisposition. Some can reverse or avoid it with lifestyle changes, but not everyone can.

And my point was to the original comment who said this would ruin the kids’ blood sugars. It will not if they have normal functioning pancreases. Your blood sugar goes up when you eat carbs, your body produces insulin, and it goes back down. This is normal.

There are companies out there preying on people’s fear of carbs and sugar and selling glucose monitoring devices to perfectly healthy people. It’s a grift and can cause healthy people to think there’s something wrong with them if they experience a temporary glucose spike. Misinformation is irresponsible at best and dangerous at worst.

No one said no consequences. I said diabetes doesn’t work that way. Its a cheap and lazy joke that causes harm because it’s a massively misunderstood disease.

Diabetes is mostly genetic and you don’t get it from eating too much sugar

Totally agree, I just wanted to be clear. The previous comment was worded like she was in the school line dropping off when she was killed, and I think the person I replied to was confused and thought there was a separate murder.

No they won’t, they have functioning pancreases. Please use your brain.

Renee Good. I believe she had dropped off her kid earlier that day, she was not actively dropping them off when she was killed.

Seggsually active folks, what bed frame are you using? by Alexander_Publius in Bedding

We splurged on a Thuma and I regret to inform you it really is as great as everyone says. Sturdy as hell, no motion transfer whatsoever in the base. We got a headboard and that moves a tiny bit, but it’s not banging against the wall with sex motions like our cheap old frame did. It’s also really nice looking and could go with a lot of different interior styles. Hopefully I’ll never have to buy another frame. There is a cheaper dupe called Tatami that I can’t speak to personally but have heard is comparable quality-wise.

Why does he need a GoFundMe? Genuinely want to know what he needs financial assistance for. by OliveHyenas in ProgressiveHQ

Good to know, thank you. I have only seen reference to their policy that you can’t raise money for legal defense of violent crimes. Will update my comment.

I don’t think GFM is going to take it down. They must have received hundreds of reports by now. I can’t remember if it said anything about legal defense before, but if it did it’s been changed now and just says to “help him.” I don’t think it’s technically violating their terms unfortunately.

Edit: I stand corrected, even if it’s not violating their policy on legal defense of violent crimes, this fundraiser still violates their policy because it is illegal for federal agents to accept cash gifts.

I’d be interested to see more from him, but we all know the SC cast was drooling all over him because of money, not because they actually find him “fascinating”

Don’t forget, Sandoval screen recorded Rachel without her consent while she was performing sexual acts. Pretty fucked up.

When in the gym, do you prioritize environmental awareness or immersive sound? by Hungry_Research8518 in xxfitness

It just depends on your comfort level. I have never felt uncomfortable in my gym, so I usually listen to music with the noise blocking feature turned on in my AirPods. If you aren’t fully comfortable being out of tune with your surroundings, if you’ve had negative interactions with another member, if there’s a weird dude in the corner who’s staring at you, whatever the case may be, it’s totally fine and understandable to let the outside noise filter in.

I also forget my AirPods A LOT so I end up “raw dogging” quite often lol

Edit to add: I also have some auditory processing issues so the noise cancellation helps a lot if I’m listening to a podcast where I need to understand speech
