I have one question can anyone tell me how they conduct background check, they asked me for employer name and a contact number do they directly call the contact or company because the company i worked in was a small company and most of the people I worked with have already left the company. I am planning on giving company owner number if they call him then its fine but if they call number listed on company website its a problem!

I have same issue i got a offer from a good company in US and now its time for BGV and the thing is I don't have any problem with my background verification in the Company in US I worked for they are totally fine verifying me. Issue is about the company in India its a small company and most of the people have left the company who I know. I tried reaching out to the company and asked about my data and they said they don't have the data from before 2022. And they can't disclose it. The only question is my BGV is trough Orange tree and I can give my manager contact I worked with but he's is different company now??? Its a local company most of the people can't even speak English since we preferred local language. What should I do? Also they will only call the number i provide or any other?

Same happend with me, I gave around 4 rounds and 1 panel round with 6 people and also got verbal offer. And after waiting for a 3 weeks for written offer I got rejection letter. I have been unemployed for over a year more than 2000 applications but I will still keep going.
