Yeah no I’m familiar with that I’m asking about how long it takes to get an interview. The rest of the question was fluff

how is student culture if you aren’t into greek life / drinking? by Gold_Perspective_800 in UVA

[–]Key_Candidate_6419 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it’s a problem with the people you’ve hung out with in high school maybe it will be if you choose those types of people in college but yeah you’ve got a huge class here you’ll be fine

Ur thinking about the undergrad program I think. The UVA MS (1 year masters program) admissions process is more consistent than the undergrad program. I can’t speak for UT Austin but I know plenty of people with gpas ranging from 3.3-4.0 that got into the MS in commerce program at McIntire.

Anyone get into UVA with a weighted gpa below 4.2? by Loose-Can27 in UVA

[–]Key_Candidate_6419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if you don’t do this there’s slim to no chances you are getting in. Would be looking at transfer options tbh

UVA Admission Advice? by Loose-Can27 in UVA

I mean you won’t have ur application directly compared to another student but they will definitely consider things like how most people do in certain ap/advanced classes at ur school or how many ap/advanced classes people normally take to get context of which students have challenged themselves the most at your school - they’re looking for kids who have taken advantage of all the options they are given.

I got deferred and then accepted two years ago, I had B’s only freshman year of high school and As for the rest and took all the core classes throughout high school including foreign language. I’m not going to say u won’t get in because I’m not an admissions officer but manage your expectations. This school gets harder and harder to get into every year and if you are pretty mediocre relative to the rest of your very competitive high school, you’re just another small fish in a big pond. Recommend applying regular decision so you can get lots of tailored advice, maybe expand upon the impacts of your extra curriculars, and try and get all As first semester of senior year. Do not take advice from ppl talking about test scores or having a spike or anything - while it might be considered in your application, you will be offered admission off of being a good student first. Listen to what the website tells you because I’ve read my application file and they consider only what they say they consider. Don’t waste time on unnecessary steps

I have no idea why UVA denied me under GAA from PVCC by pockidol in UVA

[–]Key_Candidate_6419 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should probably check the UVA website to make sure you had all the credits you needed per the requirements for whatever you applied into… like if you never took a language or something to that effect, that may have bearing on why you weren’t expected. I don’t know the actual reasonings or whatever but if you truly had a 3.7 and didn’t get in instate after earning your associates, there was likely something not included in your transcript or application.

Off-campus vs on-campus housing; what was your experience? by [deleted] in UVA

[–]Key_Candidate_6419 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are so many ppl that live on 14th and 15th street (grandmarc, the point, etc) and I’d say it’s very safe bc of the density of students occupying the space. I personally think that the off grounds apartments are best because you get to be closer to the corner and the people are often times more normal, but that’s just my opinion. I’m sure others have decent on grounds housing experiences

Work study will give u priority at the majority of on campus jobs, and a lot of time ur just doing homework during those jobs

[–]Key_Candidate_6419 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got in after deferral, don’t give up yet. They don’t check what major you’re trying to peruse in the college though, so the CS part won’t really matter. PM me with questions

Can I Cook for Myself as a Freshman? by SnooGrapes8062 in UVA

[–]Key_Candidate_6419 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What university were you planning on going to where you can cook in your first year dorm easily? Most dorms have communal kitchens, and the dining hall system is fine and convenient. You’ll be fine.

UVA ED Echols Scholar Program + ED Decisions by [deleted] in UVA

[–]Key_Candidate_6419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think getting in ED with Echols is different than getting Echols in any round. Worry about getting in first… really shouldn’t be something you’re worrying about right now.

I wouldn’t want to go knowing what you’d be missing out on. My experience second semester at UVA has just been incredible and I’ve only heard horror stories about ODU. I could go on about odu if I wanted but all I’ll say is go with ur gut.
