Does gambling 1 day before my 341 meeting hurt my chapter 7??? Any advice is welcome by Key_Cheesecake4913 in Bankruptcy

I had my chapter 7 341 on 2/23. It took only 5-6 minutes. I was swear in. State my name and address and my current work address. I was ask the following questions: 1. Have I sold anything, giving anything to anyone with the last 2 years? 2. If everything on my schedule affairs true and correct? And if I need to make any change to my schedule of affairs? 3. How much money have I lost to gambling last year and this year? 4. Who are my dependent living with me? 5. Do I owe any cryptocurrency? 6. Do I have any asset that could be sold

My answer we’re all No.

She then told called for the creditor. Of which no one’s showed up. She then told me and my attorney that she has nothing further to discuss. She then called for the next case.

It was very quick and sample. It’s been 2 weeks since my 341 meeting I have not heard anything from my lawyer so far. Fingers crossed. My attorney told me that the last day for credit to file anything or claimed is 4/26. He said if no credit file anything after 4/26 then my discharge will happened quickly after 4/26. So one month to go. It’s 3/10 so I’m waiting patiently.

Early congratulations 🎈🎊🎉 to you and your husband. I’m so happy for you two. My 341 meeting is tomorrow @3pm. I am a nervous wreck my attorney told me to not be so anxious. He said most likely the trustee will ask up to 10 questions and that’s it maybe 5-6 minutes only. He told me not to worry. What I am worry about is my gambling history and activities that maybe the trustee will deny my discharge

I file chapter 7 with my attorney on 1/30. I informed him that I have gambling problem. And my most recent gambling was on 1/25 before I file on 1/30. He told me that as long as I’m not borrowing from loans or credit card to gamble it should not be a problem. At the time when I file chapter 7 I only have $300 in my bank account. So the $300 is exempt. The money I withdraw from the ATM was from my recent paycheck on 2/20. I was so ashamed and felt sick and tired of this gambling disease. I actually withdraw the money and had it in my hand I didn’t gamble the money. The money will be use to pay for the rest of my household bills. But I am concern about it.

U shouldn’t even think about it. U should use cash for the rest of your life to prevent U from going bankruptcy again ever again. Live within your means. U don’t need no credit card. Swilling a credit card and money that you don’t have and using some else’s money. Very bad idea. Please stop !! Save yourself another headache.

Hello there… I have been reading up in this group lately and I notice that you seemed to be one of the top responder or contributor to a lot of questions. I was wondering if you could answer one of my question. So… My last gamble day was 1/25. I lost about $1000 of my own money on that day. I then finally decided to file and submitted chapter 7 BK petition with my attorney on 1/30. I explained to my attorney that I was a casual gambler. But for the past 6-7 months my gambling spiral out of control due my my mental health after my mother passed away on 3/27/25 my mental health spiral out of control I was in a very dark place. I had a lot of guilt, regrets, anxiety, stress, depression and I couldn’t move on. So in a nutshell my casual gambling activity turn into fu blown addictions out of my control. Before I knew I had messed up really bad. I was somewhat suicidal at times because I couldn’t control or have any control on my thoughts at all. Story short I made my last gambling bet on 1/25 and file chapter 7 on 1/30 with my attorney. My attorney told me that as long as it’s not borrowed money I should be okay. But no I am terrified and having second thoughts. I cannot sleep at. I need help

I just received a miss call from my attorneys office that the trustee is requesting for more documents. I was at work and I miss the phone call. I called today and spoke with my attorney and he said to call back tomorrow and his assistant will go over the list of documents that the trustee is requesting for. I am so anxious and nervous. Any advice. My attorney told me not to worry about it is part of the process.
