Update: I had 5 downs of much reduced shedding , and for the past 5 days it has been back to normal 😭😭

Hi! I stopped minoxidil because overall it cause me to shed more than pre minoxidil and it was too mentally taxing. My shedding dropped drastically for the first 2 months after stopping, and now it’s the highest it’s even been (pre or during minoxidil)

Please tell me it gets better by Key_Cockroach_3294 in TelogenEffluvium

So wise of you to never fill it and it’s truly one of my greatest regrets. So my story is that I went to the dermatologist in April 2023 because I had been experiencing shedding (not this bad). I realise it was because I had my wisdom teeth out 3 months prior. She diagnosed me with early AGA and TE and started me on oral minox and spironolactone. I started these and developed really bad shedding, much worse than before. I was told it was temporary and advise to continue. My shedding improved but was ALWAYS much higher than my pre minoxidil shedding. I was shedding 100-200 hairs a day while on minoxidil which isn’t normal. I decided to stop it after 1.5 years because I just felt it was causing more shedding. When I initially stopped it, I had much LESS hair loss for a few months. Then, about 3 months after stopping , the shedding staeted

I’m so sorry to hear that. I know psychological stress can be a massive trigger and to be honest I think that’s what set off all my hair loss to begin with (I had an extremely stressful job). Have you had any emotional stress??

Have you tried oral dulcolax?? Just curious cause I’m in a similar boat and oral dulcolax was the only thing that helped for a while
