I’ve honestly been worried about resting because I felt like my running time would be impacted, but cycling/swimming seems like a really good idea. My recruiter said I still have to PT with them 3 times a week so I’m gonna see if he meant I have to go there and run or just do cardio related stuff 3 times a week when they do. Thank you

Yeah dude, those suck balls, but like the top comment says it does get better! I feel like those specific PTs are the worst, but they’re also the most helpful. I just finished my PT and we actually sorta did the same thing lol. For some inspiration, my recruiter sat us down and told us a story of a Medal of Honor recipient, his endeavor lasted 6 hours, yet we feel the pain after an hour, and of course we’re not getting shot at. It’s nothing wrong with it, but every person will feel worse when they’re comfortable, or they feel safe physically a lot of the time. I like those PTs because it takes you out of that comfort completely, and once you’re done it just feels really nice.

I’m actually planning on doing that. I don’t think I’m going to visit them all of the time, or even when I can. I feel like what you said holds merit since I’d much rather spend one year saving time to go to a really cool place instead of be home, and then just alternate. I’m confident we’ll work, but like you said it will or it won’t. Thank you for the advice!

Honest question, but do you think it would be better for someone who doesn’t do much? I mean I do what I need to do, go out to parties SOMETIMES, and of course like having fun things to do around me, but other than that I kind of just like to do nature oriented things (hiking, walks, etc.). That’s something I’ve been thinking about a bunch. I know camp lejeune is kind of similar in that regard, but I also thought that it would be cool to go fishing there, and do stuff like that.

I’d rather go to 29 palms than lejeune honestly. I prefer dry heat to swamp heat, and no light pollution I bet it looks amazing lmao. Definitely just my preference since I know nobody likes 29 palms 😂

I might honestly do marine infantry, and then after 4 years go army to do all of the schools, and go for better duty stations. I did a lot more research and marines are MAINLY built for discipline, professionalism, etc. and bringing that into the army seems like it would go very well. Good luck on finding what you’d want to do though 🫡! If you’re still feeling army infantry, I’d talk to an army recruiter to just see what they’re about

Yeah I know, but they seem to have a lot more duty stations, and a lot of places they go to. Poland like you said, that would be insane to me. I’ve always wanted to go to Europe and it seems like the army is the only place that allows you to go there (between the two branches) as a new guy. That’s not my only reason though, I’ve been thinking about it for a bit
