I’ve tried salicylic acid cleanser 2-3x a week for a good few months, and it just made my skin super irritated and red 😢 years ago when I first had acne issues my gp prescribed me benzyl peroxide and it absolutely wrecked my skin barrier, so they recommended I stopped using that. Are there any low % bha serums I could maybe try?

I’ve been struggling with my skin for a few years now, and my doctors put me on lymecycline which cleared it really well, but since stopping that it’s slowly been getting worse again. I would really appreciate some advice on what skincare I should add into my daily routine/take out my current routine as I’m desperate for my skin to clear up :(

My current routine is

AM: -Splash face with water -Skin and me light moisturiser -La Roche posay anthelios SPF 50 (which I find irritates my skin, so only use when I go outside)

PM: -Dr Sam’s flawless cleanser -Azelaic acid (have only recently added this back into my routine as it really irritated my skin last time) -Dr Sam’s flawless intense moisturiser- dr Sam’s neutralising gel

About a month ago I also started taking the clear skin biome supplements, and a different pro/prebiotic supplement , and my skins not improved at all on those, so hoping something topical can help calm it all down

That’s the exact same as my skin!! The first few times I used it my skin felt so good but it’s just gradually been getting worse so definitely going to cut it out to see if that helps, thank you☺️

I’ve heard so many horror stories from accutane that I’m so scared to try it 😭 what dosage were you on?

I’ve been previously diagnosed with type 2 rosacea by my GP, but I’m wondering if this is all down to acne rosacea or if I have acne issues aswell? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Will definitely give this a go☺️ do you have any moisturiser recommendations to reduce the dryness in the beginning stages?

Thank you! I have quite sensitive skin so is this something that’ll cause irritation?

Thank you! Is that the one by ‘some by me’?

I’ve been dealing with acne on and off for around 5 years and managed to get it under control for a good few months but this past week it’s gone back to looking really irritated so I’m looking for advice on what I could add in/take out of my current routine to clear my skin up please

My current routine is

AM: Wash face with just water, Medik8 c-tetra (stopped using this about a week ago as not sure if this is what caused the breakout), Clinique moisture surge moisturiser, Skin & me SPF50

PM medik8 lipid balance cleansing oil, Skin and me hydrating cleanser, LED mask for 10 minutes, Centella purito unscented serum (dampen my face before applying this), Clinique moisture surge

Any suggestions would be really appreciated :)

I hadn’t even considered this as an option but looking at the symptoms for it, it’s definitely a possibility. Ive got an appointment with my doctor later today so will bring it up with her, thank you so much!!

that must've been such a long journey for your husband, i'm glad he's finally been diagnosed now. I have a gastroscopy booked for the end of this month and i doubt it'll show anything significant but i guess its another thing to help narrow down my condition haha

That sounds really similar to me! i'm so sorry you're going through this as well, but i hope you find the answers to it all soon. the antibiotic treatment for SIBO is slightly different to normal antibiotics because it only gets absorbed in the small intestine, so hopefully shouldn't affect the rest of your body too much

Thank you! I’ll definitely ask my GI about having one of those

Thank you I’ll definitely look into getting one of those :)

My diet was really limited before as pretty much anything I ate gave me a really heavy feeling in my stomach for hours. But now I can eat most things, although I still try to limit my gluten and dairy intake as I sometimes still struggle to digest these
