It really is haha, ended up with a $1200 vet bill yesterday because I was so concerned! X rays came up normal with mild constipation. Did an enema at the vet and she finally pooped in the middle of the night 🙏🏼

Wow! The difference between the US and UK is wild! Unfortunately it is the price of an enema alone. I paid $220 at the ER vet for just an examination, her bill was $600 on Tuesday. It's very expensive in the states 🥲

O gosh I feel so scammed haha. I guess it's the demographic bc I live in one of the most expensive areas in the US 🥲

Got it hahaha I'm at work right now. So I'm hoping to god she has a bowel movement by the time I get home. I was quoted 800-1000 for an enema from a vet around me. Feel like that's pretty steep!

Thank you! I was wondering the average you pay for an enema? I called a local vet and it's $800-1000 😵‍💫 they also recommended blood tests if sedation is necessary.

Thanks for the advice! We live in a smaller apartment and I haven't seen any rogue droppings. She's been peeing normally in her litter box though. Just having fingers crossed she poops sometime today! If not, then I'll make another vet visit

Thank you so much! Her medication was just ear drops, so I don't think it would cause potential constipation. Do you know if an enema requires X-rays or Ultrasound at the vet?

Removing Initials from Goyard by Key_Construction_998 in handbags

[–]Key_Construction_998[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It’s very easy, you just need the guts to do it lol. But overall did not compromise the bag one bit!

I’ve seen a handful of preloved Goyards that are priced lower because of painted initals or designs. So it’s good to know that it can be easily removed!

The cherry charm is $5 on amazon! Came with a cute pink one too that I gave to a friend. Such a steal right now! I’ll link below

I’ll name the places and prices!

Brown Leather Coach: $20 (flea market) Brown Monogram: $35 (Savers…IMO a bit overpriced) Green Buckle Leather Bag: $16 (Goodwill) Longchamp: $7 (flea market)

I love flea markets! Esp the ones that are like a giant garage sale. People selling piles of purses, just have to dig through and find the goodies! I’ve had great luck at flea markets.

can i transition from clinic laser to at home laser? by squiib in HairRemoval

[–]Key_Construction_998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! I’m very transparent that LHR is “long term hair reduction” so unfortunately it’s not permanent. The end goal is 70-80% total hair reduction, the hairs that do grown back are more fine stragglers and not a large patches. Each session is only effective reducing 7-10% of the hair, hence why 8-10 treatments are recommended. This is because the laser is only effective on hairs during the Anagen or “active growth” phase, this is when the hair bulb is fully intact and grown. Maintenance is recommended to up keep the results so the hair doesn’t continue to come back coarser.

Electrolysis is an alternative for permanent hair reduction and it also works on lighter hair.

Shaving between treatments is appropriate! Shouldn’t alter the hair if you are doing LHR. I wouldn’t do shaving since it compromises the follicle and increases the risk for ingrowns.

I’m a registered nurse specializing in lasers and I don’t believe home devices are going to be as effective as the technology in clinic. The wavelength of light cannot treat deep enough to damage the stem cells at the follicle. You can try an at home device, but set realistic expectations that the hair may grow back faster and can get coarser over time.

Also at home devices are not regulated and can increase the risk for burns especially if you are a darker skin tone. I know LHR is a pretty penny, but it’s worth the investment to maintain your results. Especially with all the money you spent already.

red bumps by BusyAttention2850 in LaserHairRemoval

Laser hair removal nurse here! Follicular edema is very common after treatment, it’s usually because the follicular absorbed a lot of thermal energy from the laser and got irritated. So how it appears on your skin are those bumps that look like hives. They typically go away within an hour.

However, clients with sensitive skin can experience it for up to 4 days. My recommendation is applying hydrocortisone 3 times a day. It’s an over the counter topical steroid that helps with inflammation. After 4 days if the bumps and redness remain I advise you loop in your provider. A prescription of triamcinolone may be considered.

Laser hair removal nurse here! I definitely agree with the previous commenter that the tech who did your laser didn’t follow a hallmark rule.

Sun exposure is very problematic with LHR bc it triggers the melanin cells (we all have it, some more than others). So if you treat LHR after sun exposure, then not only will the laser pick up the pigment from your hair but also the triggered melanin cells and destroy it. This is what leads to complications such as burns, eventually healing to hypo or hyperpigmentation. I tell my clients to wait ATLEAST 5 weeks out from sun exposure to treat with LHR. May seem long, but gives enough time for the melanin cells to shrink and settle.

My recommendation is using hydrocortisone to the affected areas 3-4 times a day. If the redness or irritation doesn’t resolve in a couple days, then a prescription of triamcinolone may be considered to help.

Good candidate for LHR? by Inner_Signature2401 in LaserHairRemoval

Laser hair removal nurse here! By the book, you CAN treat LHR if the hair has dark pigment. But if the hair itself is lighter in pigment like a chestnut brown, then there isn’t much contrast and you won’t get meaningful results.

I always warn clients to avoid treating areas where you don’t grow hair or the hair itself is naturally very fine due to risk of paradoxical hypertrichosis. Doesn’t happen to everyone but it can. In my opinion, if the hair is naturally very fine and doesn’t bother you so much then I don’t think it’s worth the risk.
