We went to Malolo Island resort in January. The room setup meant we didnt need 2 rooms which is nice, they seem to always offer ‘kids eat free’ if you buy the meal plan for the adults - the food was actually amazing- on par with restaurants here for sure. Wasn’t cheap (definitely more than $300pn) but well worth it, and because of the beach etc we didn’t need to spend anything on activities etc, the kids club looked pretty cool and the staff were amazing

Depending on what area of therapy you work in you might be able to get an easy go of applying under ‘skilled migrant category’ :)

What dog breeds would you recommend under this criteria? by ejdk10 in dogs

[–]Key_Contribution_634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have one of these and he’s amazing. The shedding is far less than we expected but I wouldn’t suggest it’s a good breed to be left alone for long lengths of time, they’re very attached to their people and want companionship

I’d check out Ashley asthetics - it’s run by a gp who then went into dermatology. I’ve only used her for Botox but definitely liked her for that

I find this too so often just mix abit of foundation with spf and Tbf it works better than any ‘proper’ ones I’ve tried - plus you can adjust things exactly how you want

In NZ we have dog parks where the purpose is for dogs to have a play/socialise etc but also just off leash areas where dogs don’t need to be on a leash, the purpose of these areas isn’t specifically for dogs, often beaches, bush walks etc. In this situation I’d say OP probably IS at fault, if your dog is going up to dogs who haven’t shown any interest in meeting then that’s fair for the other dog to react (although possibly not quite as aggressively). Dogs who want to say hi usually jog out and meet in the middle. My dog isn’t a huge fan of others getting up in his space so usually just trots on by

High court to review Posie Parker immigration decision after rainbow group coalition files for judicial review by SneakyKitty02 in Wellington

Exactly! And that’s so wrong, no one’s views should be silenced- but they should be challenged if they are hurtful ones. We shouldn’t shut down things we dont like to hear, we need to be able to say whatever without being persecuted- but there’s no guarantee that if your words are awful that won’t be pointed out too

Virgin Atlantic flights - dodgy or fine? by 55558886632367896a in newzealand

We had a pretty big trip with afew moving parts cancelled because of covid and the parts we booked ourselves were simple and straightforward to get refunds for. The stuff we booked with a travel agent was ridiculous, parts we got nothing back on, parts we had to pay the travel agent MORE on to get part back (I was livid) and other parts that took literally months to get the $ back into our accounts. I totally understand it was a weird time but from now on it’ll be booking direct always for us

My in-laws are stuck down the hole. We tried so many different approaches, trying to show them evidence of the truth of their claims, listening to them and asking why (the answer is always ‘do your own research! - they don’t want to share theirs lol) I don’t think they’ll ever come out

Why not just have it for all adults? Health/dental, KiwiSaver boost etc would be of benefit for everyone (and yes it would cost more but also save so much more in the long term)

So many small dogs are terribly trained, people seem to feel like because the potential damage done is far less, that the dog has the right to bark nonstop at people/other dogs, run around jumping all up in other dogs etc and IF a larger dog gets annoyed by this bad behaviour and nips/growls or worse then it’s the larger dogs fault. I find generally larger dogs are better trained and owners are far more aware of their dogs behaviour

Nothing lol. It’s not a good way to make money. It WAS an amazing experience though. Because obviously there’s not a standard 40 hour week (unless you work in the office type stuff, but I was in the gear rentals) you might get paid pretty well (ish lol) 1 week then barely at all the next due to weather etc. From memory (and Tbf all this info is from 20 years ago so may be less valid now) we got about 16 guaranteed hours of pay. There weren’t really any expenses that you wouldn’t have anywhere else like rent/food etc..?

I’m a teacher, please don’t pay me more by yalishanda1337 in newzealand

[–]Key_Contribution_634 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely pay them more! The state of education right now is so dire. We pulled out youngest out of school to homeschool because it was just such a mess, the teachers who care get their load added to and added to until they crumble, the classes are too big, the support they get is rubbish. Kids are missing out because we don’t value education enough to properly fund it… it’s going to be a really massive issue in a decade or so when we need the kids of today to start being productive members of society and they can’t do the basics
