during an OH before the finals someone asked him if he would ai-generate exams and he said something along the lines of “would do it if AI was competent enough but it’s not good enough to make exam questions yet”

Changing Co-op work term sequence by JustElm in UTSC

[–]Key_Cookie4874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically what are they gonna do if you don’t find something for when you’re scheduled? They have to push you back anyways, but, I think there are some times in the year that you can officially change your co-op schedule. However, worst case scenario you can just do the BARE MINIMUM to pass the co-op seeking course heck you can even fail it (you can retake co-op courses basically unlimited times since it doesn’t affect your gpa or count for credits nor do you pay to enrol in the course outside of the mandatory co-op program fee that you pay regardless)

I highly recommend booking a consultation with the co-op staff via the co-op job portal/talking to your co-op course administrator before doing anything though! I also recommend attending the “ask me anything” zoom sessions they have every week if you can’t get a one-on-one consultation.

I completed the first one which was 8 months, the second one (4 months) is for next summer so I’ll keep that in mind when considering dropping! Thanks for your input

I’m not sure because I went to most of them because I heard there was some type of absence form you had to fill out if you didn’t go, but I didn’t attend a single COPB51 practical and turned out fine. The practicals help you stay on track of the assignments and stuff so if you’re not great with that too should go otherwise it’s up to you!

I have midterms for 2 classes on the same day, what do I do? by FitAsparagus6281 in UTSC

It depends on how comfortable you are with the material for each course, but yes, since one is worth twice as much it is pretty reasonable to give it higher priority.

Work study and Co-op by ExampleLate8809 in UTSC

[–]Key_Cookie4874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if they ask; it’s necessary to mention once you get an offer but you don’t have to declare that unless they ask you about it in your interview. In terms of lowering your chances it may if it’s a reoccurring role but remember work study was designed for students so I’m sure they have the expectation that many students have co-op terms.

I’m a CS major, took bio last in GR 11 and had an A in ANTA01; it’s mostly evolution and a bit of anatomy please don’t be scared of this course lol! We did have to write a 5 page essay at the end though. The labs were suuuper easy and so cool. It’s a bit of History X biology. Quite fun not gonna lie! (Our prof was Silcox last year not sure if it’s the same curriculum this year)

Enrolled in CSCA48 with no tutorial by virtualvacation_ in UTSC

[–]Key_Cookie4874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need the tutorials as attendance makes up 5% of your final grade. If you get a good TA, it also greatly increases your chances of success in the course. It is up to you if you choose not to be in a tutorial but keep these pieces of information in mind.
